2.5 - "I can't let go." Stars.

It turns out it is possible to rewrite the same things again and again over almost 3 books with just enough differences and a few twists in the plot-line so that it keeps things fluid. I won't argue that sometimes that can be a good thing, but I find myself looking at the review I wrote for Addicted, the second book in the Ethan Frost series, and I am struggling to find much more to say that is any different to what I already have.

This series started out with one of the best opening chapters I have read in a long while, it was that good I still remember it, but since then it seem's to have drifted off into average, which is a shame, as I have become a big fan of this authors writing recently.

The main problem I have is that Chloe is still on the same assume, overreact, melt-down and apologize cycle she has pretty much been on since the middle of book one, and Ethan hasn't really learnt that much from his past mistakes in relation to full disclosure with her, and is still for the most part doing what he thinks is right, and not telling her about it half of the time.

The first half of the book is pretty much sex, 'I love you' followed by more sex with the inclusion of (view spoiler) then there are a few more 'I love yous' followed by them having more sex, and the inevitable row.

I have come to have high expectations from Tracy Wolff, but sometimes a story needs more than just well written sex to carry the bulk of it. The situation with Ethan's brother was well executed, and I loved that Chloe's BFF Tori had more page time, there is a story to be told at some point with her, I am betting.

I had put this couple to bed at the end of book two, their inclusion in the interim in the Play Me novella series was a great little catch-up, but in all honestly the first half of this book could have been easily cut down into a couple of chapters, I think it would have helped the flow of the rest of the book, if it hadn't taken so long to get going.

Not sure in all honesty, whether I will be looking to read the next installment, but never say never!

Sue Kleinfelder Thanks for the review. I was not sure if I wanted to read the 3rd book, I am not. Chloe was annoying me with her on again off again whining and the love you love you love you was just too too much for me. Poor Ethan I feel for him he's a great guy & deserves better.

Thanks Sue, tbh they were both as bad as each other in this one!

Sue Kleinfelder Yes I totally agree & like I said on my review, I felt like I had read these books before even though I hadn't ? These are the first Tracy Wolff books I have read & I like her style of writing. Maybe I will read something else of hers. Do you have any suggestions?

Her Extreme Risk and Shaken Dirty Series' are much better, one couple-one book so it isn't all dragged out like this series. Hope you enjoy!

Lana ❇✾DG Romance❇✾ I DNFd book 1 and couldn't continue and the other few books I've read by her haven't quite worked for me either. This author is just not for me. Wonderfully said, Claire!

♛✨Christine ♛✨ A great review, hun. A very honest opinion :)

Thanks honey, I have to admit I have a bit of a love/hate with this author, this series sits in the second column!

Anna MacIntosh I have to say I agree with this assessment, however I didn't struggle to get through the books. I read the first two quite quickly, but alas I'm hesitant to read the third book, it seems like what I've already read in the first two installment, but at Ethan's POV. and I'm not one to reread something I've read.
