really liked it

bookshelves: classics, science-fiction

I prefer hard science fiction but Lathe of Heaven is proof that sci-fi lite can be good too. It merely requires good writing, good ideas, and the ability to stimulate thought.

Kind of says it all about LeGuin - “ability to stimulate thought”. You can’t turn off your thinker when reading her.

Those are the 3 points to most good writing. I’ve not read Le Guin and since I’m not an experienced sci fi reader, maybe a good book to start with.

It would be a good one to start with, Judith, if you're interested. It's mostly a thought experiment about "playing God".
