Well, then.. This really didn’t add much to the story. Nothing happened and it was kind of boring. There hasn’t been any development in the plot, characterization or romance yet. I also feel like this has been missing emotional depth so far.
I’ll try to remain patient, but I have to admit that this was disappointing.
When it comes to the characters, I like Patrick’s snarky attitude, but he can veer into annoying territory quite quickly too. Luckily, it is easy to see he secretly has a heart of gold.
I’m still a bit ambivalent towards Will, especially since he doesn’t have much of a distinct personality yet and he is just so incredibly pathetic when it comes to his ex, Ryan.
Speaking of, Ryan is genuinely making me so mad. He is such an arsehole and I need Will and everyone else to see and acknowledge that. I am desperately awaiting his fall from Grace; I honestly can’t wait for that.
All in all, I just really have to wonder: when will we finally get to see some kind of love blossom between Will and Patrick? Because so far it’s been awfully quiet on that front.
And I mean, don’t get me wrong; I absolutely adore a good slow-burn, but it’s honestly starting to look like a no-burn at this point. A mere bit of lingering sexual tension doesn’t count as all that much to me, especially if there aren’t even feelings involved.
'Wake Up Married' series:
1. Will & Patrick Wake Up Married - 3.0 stars
2. Will & Patrick Meet the Family - 2.0 stars
3. Will & Patrick Do the Holidays - 2.5 stars

my personal favorites are books 4-6 so i'm curious to see if your feelings will change by the end lol. i will say though to not really expect too much depth for this series. 😅
Haha yeah patience is really what you need here. I got so frustrated at some point I wanted to scream 😂
@Linh — Aw yikes! I’m sorry to hear you’re dealing with a similar “no-burn” situation.. It can really test your patience😅
@moonlight — Ah okay, I’ll keep my expectations for the next book to a minimum as well then, and hope that everything will pick up by the time I get to the fourth book😌 It’s unfortunate to hear the series in general will lack in depth, though. That means that it’s unlikely it’ll ever really be a favourite of mine😬
Expecting slow-burn.. and getting no-burn, is just frustrating!! 😬🙄 Sorry this is not measuring up Imme.. hope the series improves.. 👍
@Vanna — Yupp, definitely very frustrating🥴 I’m trying to keep patient, but it’s a little difficult for me😂
this series was not it for me. books 1 and 4 were the only 3-stars i gave and everything else i gave one or two stars.
@elena — oh nooo, I was hoping it would get better, but definitely not worse😬 I guess I’ll have to adjust my expectations🙁
Bummer. Will surely be skipping this series. Hope you can salvage something from the rest. Great review Imme !
@Federico — Yea, I hope so too! I’ve heard mixed opinions on if the series gets better or worse, so I’m not sure which way it’ll go😅
Imme, did you ever continue this series? I'm curious since its 7 books but also... this beginning is not too promising ouch.
@Candy — nope, I didn’t😅 I got stuck after the third book and never picked it up again after that. Perhaps I will sometime in the future, though. You never know haha🤣
Oops— I'll check out later and see if the rest of the series randomly gets a review then lol. Although I imagine you have better reading prospects at the moment 🤣
I hope your next read is gonna be better Imme!
