Another fun book in the Stephanie Plum series. Stephanie. Lula. Cars being blown up. Donuts. Chicken. Grandma. Viewings. Joe. Ranger. you always know Another fun book in the Stephanie Plum series. Stephanie. Lula. Cars being blown up. Donuts. Chicken. Grandma. Viewings. Joe. Ranger. you always know what you're going to get when you pick up one of these books crazy characters, a wild mystery, and lots of laughs. The mystery in this book was stronger than some others and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Stephanie is still picking between Joe and Ranger. My guess is she will never pick at this point although I am forever on Team Joe! Lorelei King does a brilliant job of bringing these stories to life with her audiobook narration.

Josie is still dealing with grief and guilt from the loss of her beloved grandmother in the previous book. The Grief and guilt are compounded by the fact that her first case back involves a murder. Two years ago there was a Dudley school bus crash that Killed six students and sent the bus driver to jail. Now it appears as though somebody is targeting the parents of these children. Why is somebody bringing even more grief into these family’s lives, what could the possible motivation be? Once again Josie and team are on the case. Josie was definitely struggling and it was nice to see everyone around her prop her up especially Noah.As in all Josie Quinn books I loved donning my detective hat and trying to puzzle the mystery together. This series is 12 books strong and keeps bedding better, can’t wait to see what’s next!

Seriously each book is better than the last I don’t know how Lisa Regan does it? Josie and Noah are finally going to tie the knot. That is until the body of a murdered child is found on the church steps. Everyone tries to convince Josie and Noah to go ahead with the Wedding, but Josie has met this girl before. And anyone who knows Josie knows there is no way she’s going to get married when there is a Murder to be solved. A pinecone dolls, a missing child, an undefined thump, A family with countless secrets, A stellar detective team, and plenty of suspects.
Just like the mysteries in all the books in this series this one was perfectly paced and plotted. Loved donning my detective hat and trying to figure the case out along side Josie and team. As much as I enjoy the mysteries in these books my favorite part is the characters and the character development throughout the series. I just knew when I first met Josie back in book one that there was a lot going on with her, and I’ve loved watching her grow and open up throughout the books in the series. This book had some true heartbreak that definitely took me by surprise, heartbreak that had a tremendous impact on Josie. Loved this book and if you are a fan of crime thrillers you will too! Each book can be read as a standalone, but I would strongly encourage you to read this entire series it is truly one of the best. The only thing left to say is... when is book 12 coming out?

This is the 13th book in Rosie Green’s delightful Little Duck Pond Cafe series. even though this is the 13th book it can absolutely be read as a standalone, a good place to jump in. Carrie is tired of being overshadowed by her twin sister Crystal. finding out her crush Adam is crushing on Crystal is the straw that breaks the camels back and Carrie needs a little getaway. so Carrie packs up her car and heads to the nearby village of Silver Bell for a quiet retreat. BUT soon she finds out that her retreat might not be so quiet, seems as though there was some miscommunication and she will be sharing the charming Snowdrop cottage with a handsome stranger. not to mention the unusual goings on at the cottage next-door. this was such a sweet story and I really loved getting to know Carrie better, she’s made some brief appearances in previous books. I didn’t even mind that we didn’t spend any time with the LDP ladies, I was just so enchanted by this new town and its colorful residence. Carrie really seemed to bloom out of the shadow of her sister and I really loved the direction the story took. A delightful story filled with romance, mystery, friendship, and holiday cheer.

Josie Quinn is back in the ninth installment of this stellar series. Each book in the series is bursting with tension, atmosphere, brilliant storytelling, fascinating characters, twists, turns, and thrills. This book kicks off with Josie and Gretchen involved in a water rescue. Denton is in the midst of epic rain storms and the city is rapidly flooding. This really offered the perfect ominous atmospheric setting for this mystery. While in the middle of the water rescue Josie discovers a dead body. The body had been buried for over 16 years and the flooding has brought it to the surface. Turns out the dead woman is someone Josie went to high school with and the kicker she’s wearing Josie’s dead husband ray’s baseball jacket. This mystery drags up many pieces of Josie’s past. A dead body, a hairdresser, a drug dealer, A mysterious caller, floodwaters, gunshots, protests, DNA, and an orange cat. Once again I was 100% invested in figuring out the mystery in the story. Love Josie and all the other characters in these books. Josie has had so much growth throughout the series. I hated to see her drug back into the past dealing with not only The ghost of Ray, but also her terrible supposed mother. My only complaint with the story is that once again poor Noah had to play second string to Ray. I mean I really like them together and I think Noah is really good for Josie, but man I almost want him to call her out sometimes. Another spectacular installment in this series with an ending that took me by surprise. This book in emojis ...more
