It surprisingly worked really well, and while most of the characters had very few redeeming qualities, I absolutely loved The Keller family, and they made up for the lack of good character in all the others.
The mystery was pretty well plotted out as well; even if I did figure it out before it was revealed, it still took me a while, which is something I can't say with even some of my favorite authors and stories. Overall, I really enjoyed this and it kept me turning the pages.

At times it's stilted, the storyline goes in every direction imaginable and honestly felt chaotic. It truly was bizarre and not in a cool way were it helps the story but instead leaves you scratching your head wondering which crazy direction this is going to go next. With very little in character growth or likeability. Needless to say, this story just sadly wasn't for me.

While this might have been my first book by this author, it certainly won't be my last. I loved how well the author was able to blend fact with fictionWhile this might have been my first book by this author, it certainly won't be my last. I loved how well the author was able to blend fact with fiction and make it all seem so realistic, plausible, and, best of all, like you were there, seeing it all happen right along with the characters. Their pain and punishments, their triumphs and successes, were all something you felt like you were not only witnessing but experiencing right along with them.
Witchcraft for Wayward Girls was both heartbreaking and satisfying, and I'm so glad I took a chance on a new author because I now want to gobble up everything this author has ever written.

I know it's early in the year, heck it's barely begun but I daresay, this will be my most favorite read of the year. I just couldn't put it down and am so very sad it is over. I am still thinking about this book hours later and wondering how fast the author can write so the next book will be here.
I don't read this genre a lot, but I can see this genre, no, this series, becoming an all-time favorite and one I will definitely need to explore more of.
I can't say enough about this book, these characters, this world, heck, just the writing alone will draw you in and the characters and world will keep you there.
I really tried to savor this read but I couldn't help myself and read it all in almost one sitting. I am so sad it is over, and I am already on the edge of my seat, counting down the days until the next one.

And, if possible, I love this series even more and the latest, Cold As Hell, is definitely my favorite to date of said series. I absolutely adored this read. I couldn't turn the pages fast enough. I was completely stumped as to who-dunn'it and was excited each time a new twist and turn showed up to throw me even more off the trail.
I loved watching Casey and Eric's relationship grow even more with each new surprise that came their way and with the upcoming arrival of their baby. I have loved these two as a couple from the beginning and their love for one another and their quirky little town just gets stronger and better each new installment.
This is a series you don't want to miss out on. Quirky, original, and so much fun, it really is one that stands out, and I drop everything to start right away. It is so worth the read, I can't recommend it enough.

While I do love this author, I did forget how incredibly steamy some (if not most) of her reads can be. And while I did appreciate all the trigger warnings at the beginning of the book, I don't think I quite appreciated them all until I started reading.
This book moved a little slow in the first half but definitely picked up by the middle and then, it just took off. With one new revelation after another. I loved Sydney being an unreliable narrator throughout most of the story as not only the mysteries of the island progressed, but Sydney's and the other's as well.
This story kept me on my toes and completely fascinated about what would happen next, what would be revealed next, and what other twists and turns the author would throw at all the characters next.

And even though it had been awhile since reading the first book, I was able to quickly immerse myself back into Rie's world and easily fall into the story.
It was nice to see Rie learning more about who she is and her abilities. And while things weren't always easy for her, she slowly but shirley started to come into her own and become stronger in both confidence and in her abilities and relationships with those around her.
The pixies were still very much present which I was glad for because they still remain my very favorite part of this series and it just wouldn't of been the same without them.
With lies, deceptions, and mayhem always on the horizon, I can see many fans of the genre quickly liking and devouring this.

This left me constantly wondering where the story was headed next, curious over the slight paranormal aspect, and also longing for the slow-burning romance to be just that and not something I was imagining along with the main character.
I really did enjoy every single chapter of this book.

To say I fell in love with this novel, with these characters, is maybe an understatement. I absolutely adored this read. I don't read a lot of romanceTo say I fell in love with this novel, with these characters, is maybe an understatement. I absolutely adored this read. I don't read a lot of romance or rom-coms anymore but when I do, it is always worth it and reminds me all over again, why I should be reading more of them. Armstrong's latest is exactly that reminder I needed. This was just so much fun. I loved everything about it and the characters were so real feeling and I felt completely invested in their future, together or not. This was so entertaining and a perfect summer read. Heck, this is just the perfect read for any season, for any reason. So well done!
Armstrong doesn't need to worry about the ratings and feedback on this one, it's going to do smashingly well!

There is a certain excitement that happens when you open up one of her stories and this series, her newest and latest, is no different. I loved and savored every moment of it and can't wait for the conclusion.

And while this didn't (sadly) live up to the series I was hoping it would, it did hold its own in many ways. Overall this was an enjoyable read and was very different from what I expected it to be but not in a bad way. In fact I think this series looks promising and it will be interesting to see what the second book holds.
