DC Ink is at it again with some really amazing titles and today I bring to you Wonder Woman: Warbringer! As I’ve mentioned in one of my previous reviews (Batman: Nightwalker) I haven’t read the novels so I went into this not really knowing what to expect.
Wonder Woman has always been one of my favorite members of the Justice League. I was so excited to read this and to dive back into the world of DC again. This was definitely a new twist on Wonder Woman. She’s depicted as a teenager in this graphic novel so we get to see a new side to her character. She’s obviously still fierce and daring but it’s definitely refreshing to see a few new differences.
The story follows Diana trying to make a name for herself among her people, and her trying to prove herself. What I really enjoyed about this one is the way Diana was willing to risk herself for a girl in need of help even before she knew what she truly was. You can see how strong of a character she is just by this act, and it’s definitely not the only brave one she makes in this book. The Warbringer plot was interesting. The plot twists were also some that I didn’t see coming so that was a much appreciated aspect.
I truly appreciated the work that Leigh Bardugo put into bringing this character to life. I’m really glad that she was the one to write Diana’s story. I’m also looking forward to reading the novel. I’d love to read this in more description and detail. I also loved the art with all my heart! DC Ink always brings the most amazing artists that really bring the stories to life.
Overall, the book was very enjoyable just like the previous graphic novels by DC Ink. I’d definitely recommend these to everyone. Really amazing stories about beloved characters and the most beautiful artwork!...more

And another thank yThank you Penguin Random House International for providing me with a gifted review copy and inviting me to join this blog tour. And another thank you to Librofm for the gifted ALC!
This month has been full of surprises. I was given the chance to join Penguin Random House International's blog tour. I was also approved for the ALC program that Librofm has and therefore was sent the audiobook. So I got to experience this magnificent book in two formats.
My concentration when it comes to audiobook is a little lacking so I had to have the book open in front of me in case I missed something. At some point I found myself listening to it at 2X speed. Honestly, the audiobook experience for this book was amazing! Definitely recommend trying this if you enjoy audiobooks.
“Strange, isn’t it? To love a book. When the words on the pages become so precious that they feel like part of your own history because they are. It’s nice to finally have someone read stories I know so intimately.”
Okay, so what do I have to say about this book? This was beyond what I expected. I haven't read The Night Circus so I didn't know the authors writing style or what to expect from the story. I was very intrigued because a) the book sounds so so unique (and it really is) and b) the cover is a plus. Reading (or perhaps listening?) to this book was like being in a dream. It was an entirely whimsical experience. Sometimes I wasn't entirely sure where things were going, especially since the narration changed from Zachary (our main character) to parts of Sweet Sorrows and at some point to Dorian and Kat. After getting used to this I found myself really invested in the story.
I loved how weird everything was. There were some things that didn't really have an explanation but I still enjoyed it anyway. It was like being in Wonderland. Just imagining the scenery with books stacked everywhere, keys hanging from ribbons, door knobs and doors from different parts of the world that lead to the most magical places. The Starless Sea itself was something I thought about often, waiting to experience the adventure of finding it with Zachary and the others.
“Not all stories speak to all listeners, but all listeners can find a story that does, somewhere, sometime. In one form or another.”
The Starless Sea reminded me to an extent of Strange the Dreamer. The feeling of fascination and wonder that I felt was the same for both books. The authors writing was just next level. The quotes she used were perfect and I marked so many as new favorites. I was absorbed into the story with each sentence that I ended up listening to 20% of the audiobook without realizing it. There were stories within stories and I think that's what appealed to me the most. And lots of cats. I'm looking forward to reading The Night Circus even more now.
“Everyone wants the stars. Everyone wishes to grasp that which exists out of reach. To hold the extraordinary in their hands and keep the remarkable in their pockets.”
Although I enjoyed this book so much I understand that it might not be for everyone. The story will be a little hard to grasp for some or too wild I guess you could say. I would definitely recommend trying the book. You honestly never know what book will take you by surprise next.

I was pretty excited when I was approved for this title. I’ve read a few of the other DC Ink graphic novels and enjoyed all of them so much. Batman: Nightwalker was no exception.
I went into this with no expectations since I haven’t read the novel this is based on by Marie Lu. The graphic novel did make me intrigued to read the full thing. The art work is perfect as usual. Probably one of my favorite things about these comics. Most of the graphic novel was in grey scale with the occasional yellow coloring. I loved this feature so much, and it made the pages look so pleasing.
The story follows a young Bruce Wayne before he became Batman. Of course that means that the graphic novel felt a little different than the usual vibe that’s associated with Batman. DC Ink is an imprint that’s dedicated to young adult readers so I was expecting this to be different than the usual. I did really enjoy the DC Ink releases so far. I love that there’s a new take to the stories and is something that will appeal to younger readers.
I really enjoyed the storyline and following Bruce’s life as a teenager. I finished the book in one sitting and not only because it’s a graphic novel but because the story was the kind to keep you interested. I kept guessing what was going to happen next and what the outcome could possibly be. The ending felt a little bit rushed but overall the story was really good. I loved Bruce’s character and getting to see him through a different lens....more

When I first read the synopsis for Serpent & Dove I knew I had to read it, and although I was excited to start I didn't really have that high expectations. And there dear friends, is where I was wrong. This book was everything I wanted it to be! This book has so many amazing elements including witches, witch hunters, enemies to lovers, and forbidden love. The book had me on edge for the two days that I spent reading it (yes, I loved it that much).
Lou is our main characters. After fleeing her coven she takes to hiding herself and repressing her magic to avoid being caught by the Chasseur, a group of witch hunters who burn witches at the stake. Lou is sassy, strong, independent, and I can guarantee that you'll love her! she had me laughing at every page., and worrying with her about her chances of discovery by the witch hunters. Multiple times. It didn't take much to consider her one of my new favorite characters. Truthfully, I fell in love with all the characters. Reid is a Chasseur and it took a bit of time to get used to him and actually liking him, but in no time the author had me loving even him.
Really loved the magic system, and just overall this book is officially one of my favorites! There were some twists that took me by surprise and some that I guessed but it didn't ruin the experience for me at all. Surprisingly it made me even more excited. To be honest I'm super excited for book two. I can't wait to see what the author does next!...more
I'm going to be honest here, this wasn't even half as bad as some of you made it out to be.
Let us backtrack to when I was 15 years old. I absolutely LI'm going to be honest here, this wasn't even half as bad as some of you made it out to be.
Let us backtrack to when I was 15 years old. I absolutely LOVED Twilight back then. Despite me knowing how cringe the movies were a lot of the time, I loved them. Although I went through quite a lot of the popular YA books during the next couple of years I somehow never got around to Twilight. I completely forgot about them to be honest, but I've decided 2022 is the year I'm going to read the series.
The first time I read Twilight was in 2019. I forgot so much about the book that I decided to reread it before continuing the series. I genuinely enjoyed Twilight much more the second time around. I will admit, I cringed a whole lot throughout this book but that's a story for another time. It honestly annoys me that Bella wasn't this...emotional in the movies. I feel like movie Bella is a whole different person. I was surprised with how sassy she actually was. She had her cloudy moments but not as much as in the movies. That aside, she had some less than smart moments and a whole lot of recklessness. I rolled my eyes here and there but in some ways, I liked her.
Edward was so very weird. I found it kinda funny how his expressions and reactions always changed from one minute to the next. He was constantly moody but if I were more than 100 years old I guess I would be too. I did love the Cullens though. When reading the baseball scene I felt so much nostalgia. The scene from the movie was playing in my head and I just remembered how much I really loved the dynamic between the Cullens. Alice was always my favourite and I'm happy to say that nothing has changed. I enjoyed reading about Carlisle's past (something I completely forgot about) and almost everyone else's too. I think I'm most excited about learning more about them in the coming books.
I didn't like the romance much. It felt rushed and instalove like which I'm not really a fan of. The book felt kinda slow at times but I didn't mind it all that much. I actually enjoyed the writing. There was just something about it that really kept me reading. The last quarter of the book was probably the one with the most action and it might have been the part I enjoyed the most. Though some stupid mistakes were made, it is what it is. Safe to say I'll be continuing the series. I'm actually pretty excited about that. Hopefully I'll continue to enjoy them, at least a little bit....more

Raven has always been my favorite member of the Teen Titans. She was always a really interesting character and I was looking forward to reading this one so much! I was expecting a lot more plot than we were given but I still loved this origin story. I'm definitely looking forward to what's to come. The art was as amazing as always and I loved the coloring. There were a lot of scenes that were in black and white with some hints of color....more

I mostlyIn book three we go back to following Kaye (like in book one). I liked that we got to see some of the characters from the previous two books. I mostly loved seeing Kaye and Corny deal with the events from book 1 and this one. I felt like it was more in depth than what happened in book one. To me this one was a lot more suspenseful than the first one. It was a really crazy adventure and I enjoyed it so much more than Valiant. Everything happened so fast and I didn't even have the ability to put the book down....more
