Regina Kyle starts a new series; Mediterranean Millionaires with Dante and Zoe’s story. Both are staying at Bella Vista in Positano, Italy for a little R&R, and for completely different reasons, the main issue is that neither of them knows the other, and they have been double booked, possibly by a match-making grandma!
She was starting to get glimpses of the man behind the gruff exterior… And she liked what she saw.
Zoe having flown in from the US has zero interest in moving elsewhere, and this pushes Dante at his grandmother’s insistence to make room for her in the villa, its not long before she’s distracting him in more ways than one, and he vows to try and get her to leave on her own, by being a less than hospitable host. Zoe’s onto him though and fights back, and it doesn’t take long for the burning attraction between them to come to the fore.
Better to hurt her-and himself-a little now than a lot later…
I liked this one, it wasn’t a struggle to read, but for me it was missing the ‘spark’ that is usually apparent in Regina’s books, both characters were likeable, but I found all the mess in Zoe’s background unnecessary and barely given and real page time, the same could be said for Dante’s baggage, something which was ample enough to carry the story between them along on its own but again although used as the main crutch of the conflict between them in the latter stages of the book felt like it hadn’t really been given enough gravitas. There were points where I had a giggle, and Houdini the mini pig was a great addition, I just feel like something was missing this time.
I’m looking forward to seeing which of The Mediterranean Musketeers get his book next.

Seduced by the Baron, was a pretty enjoyable end, to what has been an absolutely stellar series from Tule Publishing. Every book from the Fairy Tales of New York series has been easy to read, with a great set of recurring characters, a likeable couple and lots of sexy-times thrown in for good measure.
Australia collides with New York in this one, with Faith Sullivan finally getting a chance at her own happily ever after with Beer Brewer, and all-round sexy-surfer Rafael Quartermain. After watching Mercy get together with Seb, Dawn and Finn finally reconnect and Zel and Ty go from frenemies to lovers, Faith had pretty much given up on ever getting her own happily ever after, especially as she is stuck running the family pub; Sullivan’s, while her ailing father buries his head in the sand about important life decisions.
Amy Andrews always manages to work a little light relief into her romances and I liked that about this book, Raf had the patter, and Faith had the comebacks and together their story, albeit a tad predictable towards the end, was still a joy to read.
Tule Publishing have really set the benchmark high on this type of series, and I think the use of different authors for each book keeps things varied and interesting for the reader, there are an awful lot of publishers out there attempting to do the same thing that could definitely take a leaf out of their book, as to how it should be done. I cannot wait for more from them, and this wonderful group of authors in the future. Especially as we still have two Sullivan brothers awaiting their own happily ever after, I really hope one or more of the authors from this series steps back into the world that they have created at some point in the future and gives us their stories, and hopefully many more.

It turns out it is possible to rewrite the same things again and again over almost 3 books with just enough differences 2.5 - "I can't let go." Stars.
It turns out it is possible to rewrite the same things again and again over almost 3 books with just enough differences and a few twists in the plot-line so that it keeps things fluid. I won't argue that sometimes that can be a good thing, but I find myself looking at the review I wrote for Addicted, the second book in the Ethan Frost series, and I am struggling to find much more to say that is any different to what I already have.
This series started out with one of the best opening chapters I have read in a long while, it was that good I still remember it, but since then it seem's to have drifted off into average, which is a shame, as I have become a big fan of this authors writing recently.
The main problem I have is that Chloe is still on the same assume, overreact, melt-down and apologize cycle she has pretty much been on since the middle of book one, and Ethan hasn't really learnt that much from his past mistakes in relation to full disclosure with her, and is still for the most part doing what he thinks is right, and not telling her about it half of the time.
The first half of the book is pretty much sex, 'I love you' followed by more sex with the inclusion of (view spoiler)[ getting married, in Vegas, (hide spoiler)] then there are a few more 'I love yous' followed by them having more sex, and the inevitable row.
I have come to have high expectations from Tracy Wolff, but sometimes a story needs more than just well written sex to carry the bulk of it. The situation with Ethan's brother was well executed, and I loved that Chloe's BFF Tori had more page time, there is a story to be told at some point with her, I am betting.
I had put this couple to bed at the end of book two, their inclusion in the interim in the Play Me novella series was a great little catch-up, but in all honestly the first half of this book could have been easily cut down into a couple of chapters, I think it would have helped the flow of the rest of the book, if it hadn't taken so long to get going.
Not sure in all honesty, whether I will be looking to read the next installment, but never say never!

We return to Shadow Creek for another visit, with Snowed in With the Firefighter giving us Melody and Finn’s story. It’s been a couple of years since the last book was released and I was a little foggy on this pair but that soon cleared once I started reading their story.
"You can just stay… I’m sure we won’t get in each other’s way. Plenty of room for both of us."
Firefighter Finn has been hiding out in a remote family cabin, nursing his mental health and recovering from the physical wounds that he sustained whilst out on a call almost a year ago. The solitude has given him a chance to get some of his strength back and start to come to terms with the fact that he may never be able to do the job he loves again. Melody turning up out of the blue a few weeks before Christmas upsets his equilibrium somewhat, especially when it becomes apparent she thought she would have the place to herself, and that their families are playing matchmakers on their behalf.
She reminded him of how good life could be… Somewhere along the way he’d forgotten that…
I liked this seasonal story, this is a couple that have a connection through family marriage, and also from growing up in a small town together. While Finn has worked through a lot of the things that bought him to the cabin in the first place, Melody is just starting to face up to hers. Together they balance out the other out and I enjoyed the story that played out between them. The drama in the last couple of chapters dulled the Christmassy edge a bit, but all-in-all it was an enjoyable return to Shadow Creek.

What a great start to a new paranormal series.
There is a lot of mystery and suspensfullness going on in this book, and I love that all isn't revealed in one go.
Ava is your average student, except for the fact she keeps having horrific nightmares about a man with different colour eyes.
I liked that Ava isn’t your usual simpering, indecisive female that has become a little generic in books of late, she has a mind and isn’t afraid to ask questions. Another refreshing change is we don’t have insta-love going on in this book. With Caleb, it begins as friendship and the development of feelings as the story progresses.
Looking forward to part 2 – The Guardians.

The eighth book in Katie Reus’s Red Stone Security series gives us Alexander Blue and Mina Hollingsworth’s story. Katie excels in Romantic Suspense and Sinful Seduction did not disappoint.
"Why are you helping me..?"
"…Why wouldn’t I?"
Alex Blue is the kind of tall, dark and handsome that you want rescuing you from a suspected mugging in a dark alleyway as you make your way home of an evening, but as he talks to Mina about what happened the more it seems that the attack may not have been just a random occurence.
His warmth and strength were reassuring…
Especially when he also finds out that Mina is more than just the humble artist he initially thought, she’s also a wealthy heiress, and because of that a huge target for kidnapping and extortion. In steps the crew from Red Stone to offer her protection at his request, and Alex goes from protector to so much more as the chemistry between them grows stronger along with the risk to Mina’s safety.
She was the kind of woman he could see something real with and that scared the shit out of him…
Sinful Seduction was a fast paced, adrenaline fueled, sexy read. I love this series because although the stories are all based around the Red Stone Security team, each one can be read as a standalone, this being book eight, and I still have one to seven to read, and it was absolutely no problem at all.

Hard Time is the first book that I have had the pleasure of reading by Cara McKenna, to say I went straight to Amazon and 1-Clicked everything else she has ever written once I had finished it would be totally true... It is one of those books that you read and ask yourself why you have never read a book by the author before.
Although there are a couple of warnings I would give you before you start it yourself, so you don't make the same mistakes I did.
1 - Do NOT start this book at 11pm on a Sunday night if you have to get up for work Monday morning.
2 - Do NOT take your Kindle to bed with you On said Sunday night with the mantra "just one more chapter" running through your head...
Ignore the above at your peril, because I was up until gone 3am reading, and looked like Zombie shite for the whole of Monday!!
That-said I didn't really care as I LOVED this book hard, and I couldn't wait to get home to finish it.
The first 50% of this book just kept me on the edge of my seat, biting my lip, praying that the author would give Annie and Eric a break, the letters *sigh*, their date-nights *fluttery tummy*, and their finally coming together *holy shit I need a shower*.
His gaze...it stuck to me. Clung to me like the heat left by a lovers palm.
I felt him step through the door, a heatwave and a cold front all wrapped inside one man.
This book is unusual, unique and not your normal boy-meets-girl type of romance, and I suppose that is why I loved it so much, I didn't at any point think Hard Time reminded me of anything else I have ever read. Reading of a man who is so hard on the outside, but is willing to sit back and let a woman take charge is a refreshing change as well.
The letter writing, put you in Eric's head perfectly, and gave you his POV without actually putting you in his head.
"You're the first good thing I've felt in so long. The only colourful thing in this shitty grey world I've come back to. The spring seems a long ways off. Maybe seeing you will get me through the winter.
I cannot recommend this book highly enough, for me to rate a book 5 stars nowadays is becoming quite infrequent, but to have the urge to immediately read it again straight after I have finished it. I can hand on heart say that Hard Time is only the second book I have felt that way about this year.

I am a huge fan of Holly Martin and her books, they are quirky, entertaining and always a little bit different from your standard Chick-Lit type genre. So when one of my favorite authors decides to write a modern day fairy-tale, set in a quaint English village, featuring a magical castle, and Disney obsessed heroine, and a dashing, if somewhat grumpy hero, not to mention a cast of diverse and entertaining secondary characters, I am at the head of the queue to read that baby!
Cameron Heartstone has been living in Clover Castle, for a few months now, having inherited it, lock, stock and draw-bridge, the last six months have basically been a battle to pay off the outstanding debts, and as the money has dried up, make all the staff (most of which, live in the village of Clover’s Rest) redundant.
He was grumpy, rude, sweet, funny and sexy as hell.
Unpopular, ostracized and at the end of his tether, he asks Castle Heritage, to send one of their representatives to see if he is applicable for financial aid for the continued upkeep and restoration of the castle.
Milly Rose’s arrival at Clovers Rest is less than auspicious, after her car conks out by the village green, she finds herself stepping out into a village that time and modernization seem to have completely skipped by.
”Those that stay there never leave.”
What follows is a romantic adventure of epic Disney proportions, with ghosts, curses, secret passages, treasure, an evil witch, magic and mayhem. Cameron and Milly together were sweet, sexy and very entertaining, and their love story, although not without its pitfalls was an absolute joy to read.
I love this authors writing, you cannot help but be sucked into the stories that she tells, and Fairytale Beginnings is no exception. Beautifully written, well-paced, with plenty of twists and turns, it kept me amused and giggling frequently right up until its end.

Being the first book I have read by this author, I have to say I was mightily impressed by Seducing the Boss, it may have been short, but it was perfectly formed.

I think the main thing that stood out for me, is the fact that Mari Carr took me back to the days where you were pretty much guaranteed to know that the Brazen book you were picking up would contain two things; plenty of sex, and an easy to get along with story-line, she did this in spades and I really hope to see more books from her through this imprint very soon.
"Careful, Scrubs. I bite back."
I absolutely loved this book, Kellan was sweet, dirty and sexy, and Sara, sassy, confident and perfectly happy to take the lead. Both of them aren’t looking for any serious commitment, and being friends agree to scratch each other’s sexual itches for one weekend only.
"You’re going to have to stop doing that…"
"Doing What?"
"Rolling your eyes at me. For some strange reason, it’s started turning me on. You roll your eyes, and I get hard…"
As you would expect one weekend turns out to not be enough, and I loved that the author made Kellan the vulnerable party of the duo.
"You’re the king of casual affairs. I was kind of planning on following your lead when it came to walking away. You’re fucking this all up."
The drama when it comes is relevant and not played out, and the ending and epilogue perfect.
"I’m not easy and I’m never going to be a sure thing."
I really hope to see more from this author through Entangled Publishing in the near future.

I am in two minds with Cowboy Delight. This is my first book by this author, would I read another, in all honestly probably not. This isn’t my kind of romance/erotica/smut however you want to term it.
Steve and Lauren were ok as characters, what I really struggled with was the insta-everything that happened in the extremely short time that this novella covers. And by short I mean hours, not days, not even a day has passed by the time pretty much everything has happened.
In the space of about 6 or so hours our H/h have gone from a quick kiss in his car, having a race with a tornado and horse riding. To her worrying about fitting his huge piece of hot meat(yes I know, cringe) inside her lady garden, to him spreading her ass liberally with butter for a bit of back door fun, and then smearing her boobs with his home-made banana cream pie until he hits the home run and comes all over her face….

Continuity was also a bit lacking, as in the next paragraph they are curled up on the sofa watching a movie…
If you are looking for a quick, dirty, with a minimal plot and believability read, this one will be a winner for you. I kind of felt let down for the characters, there was a lot of potential in this story but it was completely bypassed for a few cheap thrills, and lots of side plots that didn’t really amount to anything.
ARC provided via Netgalley, I am sorry that I cannot provide a more positive view on this occasion.

2.5 - "Everyone has their breaking point. You reached mine." Stars.

The second book in Juliette Cross’ awesome Nightwing series gives us dark and broody Morgon; Lorian Nightwing’s story, the author matched him perfectly with sassy, confident Sorcha Linden.
The chemistry sparked between the two of them from the first page, with both of them challenging the other constantly in just about every aspect of their coming together, and held me in its grip until the last. Like the first novella, this book was read in one sitting, I kept trying to put it down, until 'one more chapter' took me to the end, and whoops, it’s 4am in the morning!
"When you finally fall, it’s going to be such a beautiful thing."
There is an element of mystery with Windburn and Juliette set it up really well in that there were plenty of characters to suspect, but it wasn’t until the big reveal that I actually knew who it was. Wowza, can she tell a story, I am going straight back in and starting novella three; Nightbloom Paxton and Elle’s story. [image]

I was really happy to be approved for an ARC of Bring on the Heat, the premise was a little different, and the characters sounded like they would be entertaining, and lets face it who doesn't love a whole slew of ball-players to drool over.
Sadly, it all fell flat for me, very flat... I can't put my finger on any main reason, it was well written, but I just didn't like or feel anything for any of the characters, or feel any connection between them in any real sense. Chase was a bit of a douche and the whole Lydia/Darcy thing just went a little to far for me.
I did read to the end, to see if things improved, but on this occasion this book was just not for me.

2.5 - I Loved All The 80's references, But I Would Have Liked a Story As Well Stars...
Plain Jayne had the potential to be a 5 star book, unfortunately2.5 - I Loved All The 80's references, But I Would Have Liked a Story As Well Stars...
Plain Jayne had the potential to be a 5 star book, unfortunately it fell quite short of the mark and the stars dropped down as the book progressed.
Don't get me wrong, the book is beautifully written, and I absolutely adored all of the 80’s flashbacks with the music, and the film quotes at the beginning of each chapter, Bad Medicine bought back memories of playing my Air Guitar in my bedroom, with Jon Bon Jovi staring down at me from the posters on my wall. Film quotes from classics such as The Breakfast Club, Pretty in Pink, and Some Kind of Wonderful, had me reaching for the DVD box-set....
What left me a little unsatisfied was the fact that almost 80% of the book follows the exact same cycle – • Nick and Jayne are friends. • Nick and Jayne both want to be more than friends, but continue deny their feelings. • Nick drops everything to help out Jayne, and completely forgets about his girlfriend Lisa/Linda depending on who you are talking to (her actual name is Lisa, but both Jayne and Nick seem to have a terrible time remembering this). • Everyone else in the book points out that Nick and Jayne love each other. • Nick feels guilty and spends a little time with Lisa/Linda • Nick and Jayne are friends...... And so it begins again!!!
The first 50% of the book showed great potential and I was really enjoying it, add in a gay-blind date, Carter the goofy cousin, and some really funny dialogue and there was potential for this to be a great friends-to-lovers romance but the book just took too long to get past the above cycle.
I would definitely read more from Laura Drewry in the future, but I would like her to use fibre-optic story speed on her future works, rather than dial-up!

We return to the Blood of the Drakon series, with the third book; Drakon’s Plunder finally giving us Ezra Easton’s story.

I am abso-blooming-loving, this series. N. J Walters has really hit the mother-lode with the guys/drakons that these books are telling the stories of, and just like his brothers before him, I absolutely adored Ezra. Nothing gets my girly parts zinging more than an Alpha growly male, going all possessive over the woman destined to be his mate, and Ezra was all that and a bar of chocolate.
She was his. He’d found her in the ocean, plucked her from the sea. By the laws of maritime salvage, that meant she belonged to him now…
Once again the author managed to give the reader a really great love story between Ezra and Sam, another strong willed, sassy woman, not afraid to speak her mind, and do what she believes is the right thing. All the while their mutual enemy the Knights of the Dragon are still looking for clues as to whether there are further Drakon in existence and for ancient spells and curses to help them capture and use the Drakon for their blood.
It was rare for both sides of his nature-man and beast to be at peace. Sam gave him that.”
As with the last book I felt this part of the bigger story hardly moved along in the scheme of things, in fact there hasn’t been a huge amount of development around Karina Azarov, Herman Temple, and the whole Knights plot since the author set it all up in book one to be honest, a few bad guys may have died along the way, but nothing else of real note(yet). But after reading this one I have a feeling I know why, not that I can say as that would be a huge spoiler!
He’d bring ruin to the world before he’d let anyone take her from him…
That-said I still absolutely adored this book, there is involvement from the previous characters as well, so that keeps everything cohesive and current, and some of the banter between Ezra and his brothers bought a few giggles to the fore.
"I haven’t known you very long, but it feels like I’ve known you forever."
This isn’t a series you can just dip into, you definitely need to read it from the beginning, I also love that the author/publisher are keeping the break between releases small, it means that I am not spending the first few chapters of each book trying to recall everything that has happened previously. On that point I really hope that we don’t have to wait for the next book, Nicodemus Wilde, has been the most un-involved of the brothers up to this point in the story, so I cannot wait to get to know him better.
"You’re never leaving me. Not while I have blood in my body."

Book three, in The Prescotts series finally gives us Max’s story. The grumpy tech genius has been intriguing since the beginning but knowing that Willa Banks has had the hots for him since the they were introduced as well, has kept this reader eager for them to finally get their story.
Taking up right after the home invasion that occurred in the last book; Snow Job, Willa finds herself staying with Max in the aftermath, and it soon becomes pretty obvious that her attraction to him is not as one sided as she thought. But Max as a huge amount of baggage to deal with, and letting another woman into his life is not something he is initially interested in doing, even if it is someone he has been drawn to since he first saw her.
"I’ve wanted you for a while, and after tonight I’m done pretending that it don’t…"
This is my favourite book of the series so far. I loved both Max and Willa, and the story that played out between them had a bit of a Cinderella vibe to it as well. Although Max was more of a Beast at the beginning than Prince Charming! but with the aid of an anonymous dating app he soon realizes that him and Willa together are a winning combination.
Lucian is up next in Bad Intentions again like Max he is a Prescott that the author has kept her cards close to her chest about in relation to letting the reader get to know him so I am eager to get my hands on his story, Max has my heart at the moment, but I’m wondering if the dark and dangerous Lucian can sway my loyalties!
"These Prescotts… They’re easy on the eyes but hell on the heart…"

Its no secret that I am a huge fan of Sara Jane Stone’s books, I have pretty much devoured everything that I can lay my hands on by her in the last year or so, and Stirring Attraction continues my high quality reading run with this authors work.
We initially met Dominic Fairmore and Lily Greene in the prequel novella Running Wilde which was a quick and sexy introduction to the Second Shot series, Dom is Josie’s older brother and Noah’s best friend, whose story we were given in that novella, and in the previous book Serving Trouble. Dominic figured in the latter stages of that book, in that he was injured whilst still in service, whilst Josie and Noah's story played out. Stirring Attraction takes off a year or so on from that, Noah and Josie are now settled, and Dom is now out of the Armed Forces on medical grounds. He however is far from settled, and is struggling to find a direction or any motivation to move forwards with his life. One thing is for sure returning to Forever, Oregon as he is… Injured and unemployable is not something he even wants to consider.
The problem is the woman he loved and left behind is in trouble, and it would appear he may be the only one who truly believes that the threat she is feeling is real. This couple have history, and though they both initially try to deny that their feelings for each other are still there, it doesn’t take long for them both to realize that nothing between them on that front has changed. But Dom doesn’t think he really has anything to offer Lily, he is not planning on staying in town, and Lily is looking for someone that can offer her the whole package.
He knew how to find home. And Lily was his.
Sara Jane, once again managed to intersperse the suspense aspect into the rebuilding of the relationship between this couple, Dom is grumbly, grouchy an oh so sweet, sexy-alpha, with all the right words, he just forgets to put them together in the right way on occasion. Lily was no shy retiring violet either, and the chemistry between them, rekindled as fast as dry wood on a hot day.
"I’ll watch over you. And you can watch over me…"
My only niggle, is that I really wish the books were longer, I am a fast reader and I have literally inhaled the books in this series in a few hours, it is totally the author’s fault though, for writing such stellar couples and stories.
"Lying in your arms-that’s the safest place in the world."
I cannot wait for more, Mixing Temptation, is due for release in September, and I am hoping against hope that Caroline and Josh finally get their story told in this book.

The second book in the Bad Boys Gone Good series; Never Been Good gives us Flynn Maguire’s story. This is d3 - "Honesty... No secrets or lies." Stars!
The second book in the Bad Boys Gone Good series; Never Been Good gives us Flynn Maguire’s story. This is definitely one you can read as a standalone, and the prologue brings you up to speed on the brother’s pasts in general pretty succinctly.
"People are often more than just what they look like…"
I suppose the Bad Boy aspect to Flynn’s characters stems from the fact he is an ex-mobster, now in WITSEC, while he and his brothers await to testify at the trial of the head mobster they worked for, that for me was where it ended to be honest though, he was too sweet, soft hearted and generally nice to be classed as a full on Bad Boy. Nothing wrong with that, I liked him, and the banter with his brothers bought on a few chuckles as well.
"Whatever puts a smile on your face…"
Without knowing it Flynn and Sierra’s situations were both pretty similar, and I liked that as soon as they are in each other’s company, he feels all protective-alpha about her, what starts out as a working relationship soon develops into more when they realize their attraction is mutual. But can love built on secrets and lies really last in the long term…
"What if I don’t forgive you..?"
"That won’t stop me from loving you."
This was a pretty easy, if not fairly predictable read, I definitely got on better with Never Been Good than I did with the only other title I have read by this author, which ended in a DNF and ranty review. But something was still not quite there for me, I can’t totally put my finger on what it is that doesn’t gel with me in regards to this authors work, but although for the most part easy to get along with I did find my attention wandering if I tried to read more than a couple of chapters at a time.
"You’re not alone… Not anymore… Not ever again."
You can’t win them all I suppose, and a reader is not going to get along with every author’s writing style, which I think may be the case on this occasion, because I cannot say there was anything particularly wrong with this book, it just didn’t set off any fires, or pull any emotional investment from me in relation to the story being told or the characters themselves. I’d still happily recommend it though, because if you are looking for something easy to sink your teeth into then the author has delivered that in spades.
