Whatever it was, I came into this book with some residual hesitance and was ready to give it a few pages and then call it a night. This was at midnight last night. At 5AM, I was still reading and smiling from penis to penis. I loved this book, so much so that I can't wait to read it again. Too bad the hardcover is ruined by the vanity book club sticker printed on it and I refuse to buy those editions. I'd much rather be flipping back to my favorite pages than tapping on my Kindle, but truly, fuck a printed book club sticker. I make an exception for Oprah and Oprah alone.
But anyway, back to the book, I loved it and was excited by it and wanted to talk about it in a way I haven't in a long while. I totally bought into Noah and Sally's story and how they came to be, even as I can't believe that someone like Noah can exist in real life. I was wondering why the book was initially set in 2018 and if this would be a rehash of the aftermath of the 2016 election (which I'm sorry, I cannot take anymore), but I loved the jump to 2020 and the pandemic aspect of the story. And the emails.... <3 It gave me all the Attachments feels circa 2011.
Anyway, time to tap through the Kindle again until I can source a non-besmirched hardcover edition. LMK if you have any luck finding one! ...more
