Psychologist/author (psycho author) Jennifer Lane invites you to her world of sports romance and romantic suspense with a psychological twist!

Jen fell in love with sports at a young age and competed in swimming and volleyball in college. She went on to become the Honda Award Winner for Division III Athlete of the Year. She still gets high from the smell of chlorine and the satisfaction of smashing a beautiful volleyball set.

In Jen’s upcoming tenth novel, Low Water, a swim coach and his psychologist team up to heal from trauma. Rivals features a romance between coaches from rival universities, Ohio State and Michigan. Her Blocked trilogy also explores the transformation from hate to love. One of Jen’s favorite themes is finding common ground

Besides my continued fascination with sports, coming of age, and family dynamics, my unique inspiration is the racial divide in the US. We are more polarized when it comes to politics and race than we have been in some time, and I'm intrigued by how those differences play out in romance. The freedom of speech to express our strong opinions is a strength of America, as is the ability to find common ground despite divergent views.

Also, on a less serious note, I have always been drawn to tall, dark men, and hero Alejandro Ramirez definitely fits the bill. ;-)(less)

This limited author time means that writer's block rarely occurs for me because I'm typically excited to get back to my characters. However, it's not like the words easily flow. I often need to remind myself just to keep typing and I will edit later. "You can't edit a blank page."(less)

What If You Knew When and How You Would Die?

While this novel provoked thought, it was too long with too many characters. I felt quite bored, especially reading the mundane details of Cherry's life. I'm glad I finished, though, because the ending part

“know full well I am exemplifying the just-world fallacy, which is the erroneous belief that the world is fair. We are socialized to think that. It makes the world feel more predictable if we believe good behavior is rewarded and bad behavior punished. The problem is that we then subconsciously believe people who suffer must deserve it. It’s what allows us to look away, to turn the television off. People sometimes say that everything happens for a reason. No. No, it does not. There was no reason for these terrible things to happen together. No reason at all. They just did.”

Lol, Thank you love. My school Mississippi University for Women (http://www.muw.edu/footsteps) were doing a book on the first black students here in honor of our integration of the races and 1966. They ask students to submit copies of essays, poem, etc to be added and include in the book. I was accept and voted third most read. Whenever I get a chance I will love to send you a copy of what I wrote. I'm so excited I just had to tell you.
