Lily-Rose Depp's "Naked" Nails Make the Case for a Simple Holiday Mani

Could it be that the most festive holiday nail look is actually no look at all? Yes that sounds like a quote from The Grinch, but stick with me here.

On Monday, December 16, Lily-Rose Depp perched in an armchair at The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to discuss her new movie, Nosferatu, which is set to release on Christmas Day. Looking ever so festive in a black and silver tweed Chanel skirt suit paired with a white cape (and tied with a black satin bow!), the 25-year-old showed off the most naked of naked nails. Though her short nails were perfectly trimmed and filed, they appeared to boast no polish at all—the mark of the ideal nude manicure.

If you look very, very closely at the actor's nails, you'll notice a glossy sheen thanks to an expertly applied coat of clear polish; the finished effect is "your nails but better" to the millionth degree. The only way she could make this simpler would be forgoing lacquer altogether, but Depp is a professional and knows that the camera flash appreciates a little shine to reflect in.

The manicure was likely the work of Zola Ganzorigt, the brain behind glazed donut nails once again proving herself a genius on any side of the nail art spectrum.

To complete the look, the rest of Depp's team put a little more pizzazz into play—but only a little, this cool girl doesn't like to complicate things. Hairstylist Peter Lux worked her rich beige blonde locks into a side part, adding some vintage waves and securing the style with a thin silver barrette.

Makeup artist Marcelo Gutierrez decided to stick with the model's classic look, AKA a nude lip and both top and bottom eyeliner.

The moral of the story here? Depp is the chicest, and don't worry if your decor gets stolen this holiday season. Simple is in, and we're all going to be at the theater watching a vampire movie, anyway.
