If you like to gamble. If you want that Nevada experience, but not the crowds of Vegas. Laughlin is the place for you. The Avi was perfect. The rooms are not fancy, but the beds are great. The food was good, and the casino was cozy. The kids had a ball as well.
Laughlin isn't as frenetic as Vegas. Nights are quiet, river is peaceful and gaming is plentiful without the crowds of Vegas. There is a time difference between Nevada (Laughlin) and Arizona (Bullhead City) across the river of 1 hour.
It was our first time visiting Vegas for pleasure. We don't drink and we gamble very little but we found Vegas isn't all about gambling and drinking. We found it to be safe and there are many things to do or see. I wish Canadians were as friendly and nice to chat with as the people of Nevada.
A must see is the Wetlands, and of course Hoover dam with the city that built the dam Boulder city ,the only city in Nevada that still does not allow gambling. This charming city will relax you and you'll forget all about that gambling.
Colorado river is the only thing of value on the Nevada side. Everything thing else should be destroyed and rebuilt! Utter filth ! Food sucked If you’re not 80 yrs old, have to ride a scooter, while having to haul your own oxygen tank and smoke a complete carton of cigarettes every hour and sit in the most disgusting, vile places and throw your money away if this is you’re idea of a good time, then by all means go to Laughlin. Seriously regret not taking any photos, but look’em up there online, bed bugs and all.
Reno has very much suffered from the Indian casinos taking away their once thriving business. It shows in many ways, starting with a run down feeling of the city and hotels. But, being that there is only a few places in Nevada worth staying at. Reno is a good choice.
In Vegas for 8 days 7 nights...took a road trip around the Grand Canyon in the middle of the trip. Highly recommend renting a vehicle and getting out of the city if you are staying for more than a couple days. Nevada, Arizona and Utah are stunningly beautiful if you are into hiking and the outdoors. Las Vegas the city has so many things to offer as well but it is all very expensive.
There’s more to Reno than the casinos. Highly rate the Nevada Museum of Art, beautiful Riverwalk, and many nice public art. Good restaurants nearby especially La Famiglia across the river.
The Virgin River Casino resort was an absolute bargain for accommodation. We enjoyed the Casino and the dining facilities. A good stop over for those entering or leaving Nevada,.
Easy to get about city. Many things to do besides the casinos. Many good restaurants, Mario's Portofino, Naan and Kabob, Opas, Black Bear Diner, Great Basin Brewing, Bavarian World, Homage Bakery. Riverwalk, Idlewild Park, Galena Creek Park, the Nevada Museum, UNR museum,
Beatty
- Laundry is available onsite, bring your own detergent. Detergent was sold out for the entire period we were there, it was not refilled, or you could drive to the other side of the town and check if the sister hotel has some left. - On the edge of Beatty (Nevada), one of the closest accomodation to the National Park entrance with moderate pricing compared to other states. - Beatty is a lot cooler than Death Valley, especially at night. - Service stations and restaurants are nearby.
Our stay was really great. Actually the resort was everything we needed after busy journey through Utah, Arizona and Nevada. Really comfortable room and bathroom. Great restaurant with fair prices and great staff (Jerry you were amazing :) ) Spectacular swimming pool with stunning views over the mountains. Beautiful hotel surroundings with very well maintained garden. Last but not least - great location when you want to visit Death Valley. Really recommend this place!
We were very pleased with the location of the Motel and the size and cleanliness of the rooms and the property. Although the impression that staying in a motel is not as nice a hotel, Bristlecone Motel has been one of the nicer places we have stayed. We will definitely be visiting Ely, Nevada again and will be staying at the Bristlecone. Also, we traveled with our small dog and she was welcome on the property. Overall, our stay exceeded our expectations.
Great location for the Hoover Dam - this is the first Casino you arrive at in Nevada from Arizona - historically was a leader in its field. Entrance hall traditional. Staff lovely. Good breakfast food and options. Decor dated in rooms - but clean. Casino and hotel very quiet - not sure where all the customers were. although we arrived quite late and left quite promptly.
The room was updated, very clean, well appointed with fridge, microwave, coffee, etc. Towels and linens were soft, pillows excellent. We arrived slightly before check-in time and no staff on site in the office, but were directed to the nearby Nevada Hotel, which also owns the Four Sevens, where they could help us check in early. Our room was ready for us.
The bullet resistant glass and big sign about hotel policies suggest this hotel has some history. The outside is meh overall. The room inside was pretty nice with hard surface "wood" floors and a decent bathroom. I liked it better once I was checked in. I would stay here again. The Nevada State Museum nearby is absolutely worth going to.
Quiet hotel. Can’t hear anything outside of the room. Hotel is very clean. Food for breakfast is good. Hotel staff is very nice, helpful, cordial and friendly. This is a very family and animal happy place to stay. This hotel is perfect place to stay when traveling across Nevada to Midwest states. Thank You for all the comfortable pleasures you offer.
Location was as good as it gets for access to Valley Of Fire State Park which by the way is a little gem, a microcosm of all the best bits of Nevada and Utah. The hotel is not fancy and the breakfast could have been a bit better but perfectly adequate and all in all good value given its location.
such a sweet little hotel, very spacious. You could tell it was recently renovated or remodeled. It was very clean and the staff was amazing. Unfortunately we were just passing through but the town was so cute, be sure to eat at the coffee cup. I would fly back to Nevada just for this town!
Elko
The room was fine but Elko is a very expensive town due to Nevada Gold Mines being the largest employer in the region. They use a lot of contractors for temporary work who fill the motels/hotels. The motels/hotels take advantage of this and charge exorbitant amounts to stay.
The room was spacious and clean. Hotel staff A++ with their friendliness and accommodating service. Everyone was respectful to myself, my husband, our nephew and son. Traveling to this part of Nevada with 3 black men can be dicey. But we were treated with respect.
Great location in central Stateline, Nevada. Close to beaches, shopping, entertainment, restuarants. The lodge was older, but clean, large rooms with fireplace, kitchenette was great, separate bedroom was nice. Staff was great and very friendly.
Location prefect - I was looking at something close to the airport but easy to access freeways etc. Outside pool great, normally in Nevada only indoor was great to have an outdoor. Room was very comfortable and clean
Laughlin
The absolute worst hotel in Laughlin Nevada! I have been going to Laughlin for years and have been to almost all the hotels on the strip and this has by far been the worst hotel ever from service to disgusting dirty!
Having been “avalanched” in the Sierra Nevada, and having managed two days after to arrive to Reno, we were looking for a hotel in front of the airport. This Hyatt is the place for that. Nice staff. Very clean place
The staff is absolutely amazing. We have stayed at this hotel for many years the night before the Nevada Day parade. The rooms are always clean. Even with the negatives the hotel is a good value.
The Hotel is clean and quiet. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the breakfast had a good selection. When visiting relatives that live in Pahrump Nevada, we always stay at the Best Western!
The hotel is very nice. Nicest place in Wells Nevada. Breakfast was a bonus, and even though it was continental we were able to leave with a hot coffee for on the road.
Charming old hotel in the historic part of Boulder City, Nevada. Free museum at the hotel. Many nice restaurants within walking distance. Very good value for money.
We have stayed at the Nevada Hotel and Casino about a dozen times. Over the years the rooms have been updated and the facilities and staff area always the best.
