Offering a restaurant with an outdoor terrace, children's playground and Auto Retro Museum, Hotel Miķelis is located in Uzvara. Beautiful property with lots of open areas plus a huge automuseum and old buildings as well. The hotel itself was modern, well appointed and very comfortable. The staff were welcoming and helpful. Free parking too. Our evening meal was fresh and very tasty as was breakfast which you preorder the night before. Beds were very good, great shower etc.

Offering a spa centre including a sauna and hot tub, Rožmalas is situated in Ceraukste. The hotel has a restauranrt where guests can enjoy a meal. The design indoors and outdoors was well thought through. The handmade herb soaps made the rooms smell amazing, and you can buy them at the reception. The restaurant food and the view were great. The outdoor garden was eye-catching, + we explored the museum in the old windmill for free ( it's free for guests staying at the hotel or eating at the restaurant). The bath was huge for a hotel, and I could lay in a full length (1.8m). The air conditioner could chill the whole room.

The staff were hospitable and actually would converse with you. The restaurant was extraordinary. I felt outclassed for a moment but adapted. The ceiling kept me distracted and mesmerized. The stay in the Baltā māja - an old servants' house - gives just the correct sense of distance to the splendours of the castle of the Dukes of Courland. The Rundāle Palace from the Baltā māja perspective seems almost like an UFO, miraculously landed in the vastness of Zemgale plainscape!

Jelgava is an interesting place that probably not many tourists go to, but the palace is quite nice and Hotel Zemgale is reasonably close to it. When I arrived, I had forgotten that breakfast is included, which was a pleasant surprise. The bed was comfortable and I slept well. Overall a good deal.

Great host, it was easy to adjust with her our check-in times. We stayed in yellow cabin "Saule". It was very comfortable to sleep. The smell of freshly cut grass and watching the fog in the meadow nearby - perfect :)
