Shuttles run multiple times a day—just let them know when you’d like to go, and they’ll arrange it for you. The hotel restaurant is absolutely amazing, and it is actually the best we tried on the island! The food was fantastic, with also delicious vegetarian options on my request, and the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, heard, and that we dont miss anything. They were incredibly friendly and helpful ❤️ As for the rooms, everything was spotless, clean, and the hotel seems to be new.

A great place for nature and scenery. You can watch whales during the winter/spring seasons or embark on a trip to see Okinawa’s variation of cherry blossom! Public transport is developed but not frequent, highly recommended to drive if you are able.
The food was awesome and not too expensive! There were lots of sights to take in within walking distance of the international street and if you wanted to take a bus MUCH more to see around Okinawa. It was difficult to figure out public transport other than the monorail, but there is a tourist information office that helped us with the schedule! Some of our favorite places were C&C breakfast, the former underground navy headquarters, and amazement Mahoroba for amazing stir noodles!
Okinawa is a real comfort. Its like Japanese culture met something laidback so we get to experience more and see more. People were very friendly and accomodative! There's also abundance of breathtaking sceneries, landscapes and beaches to explore.
Naha is like a giant resort with cultural diversity quite different from mainland Japan . beautiful beaches , stunning scenery , Okinawan foods like pig trotters , sea grapes , Okinawa noodles etc . Laid back atmosphere with lots of shopping for the tourists .
I stayed only in Kunigami and only saw the southern part of Okinawa from the bus. The further north you go, the less urban development - so for nature and deserted beaches this is where I would go. It’s so quiet and beautiful. We went to the Hiji Falls - that was a highlight, also for our kids.
I loved the culture, the history and the music. Of course Okinawa is the source of my great passion, Karate, and so with some introductions, I was able to access lessons, discussions and historical sites. The people keep their history very much alive, and are aware of the hard times of the past, yet remain open and welcoming. I love Naha, and look forward to my next visit
Not too much to see in the city but fantastic beaches, beautiful walks. Some really great local Okinawan Restaurants. Lots of fun places to visit with family as well as romantic places for couples.
Lively city with lots of tourists! Happy & lovely Okinawan people, always curious & wanted to know where we’re from! Beautiful Kerama islands, just love it! Of course, excellent food!
Tokashiki is simply a MUST visit if you’re planning a trip to Okinawa!! Spend as much time on Aharen Beach! If you can stay overnight, do it! You will have the beach to yourself in the morning before the ferry comes.
Iriomote/Taketomi is pretty remote compared to Ishigaki or Okinawa main island. There are two ports in the island that you can reach by ferry from Ishigaki and a limited public bus service, which runs 4 times per day, but the ferry company has its own bus service to take you close to your destination. Despite this, I honestly like that the island is focused on minoritary tourism activities and avoids big touristic explotation. The island is a natural paradise, with small grocery shops and very few restaurants, but lots of activities, like hiking, tour rivers, diving and so.
I couldn’t even begin to list all the positive things I have to say about this resort in one single review. If you are a tourist in Okinawa- I beg you… BOOK HERE! Not only is the property beautiful, the cuisine some of the best I’ve had in all of Japan, and the pools/beach perfectly maintained, but the staff goes above and beyond in making the entire experience the best you’ll have. Lastly, this resort gives you the luxury of having an exclusive Okinawan experience without being hours away from Naha. You won’t be disappointed staying here!
Onna
A very clean, comfortable, quiet accommodation with a local vibe. Hosts were lovely people. They served a beautiful Japanese style breakfast (with a Okinawan twist!) each morning, including a great cup of coffee. Wide range of restaurants and a few grocery stores within walking distance. Several secluded beaches that are fantastic for snorkeling, swimming and tide pooling are within walking distance. Walk to the bus route to Naha/ Kadena area and north island. Taxi coverage in the area. A perfect place for our 5 night stay.
The rooms are spacious for a hotel in Japan, and very clean and modern. The rooftop pools is amazing, and the jacuzzi is a bonus! The breakfast spread went overboard with a huge variety of foods to please every kind of taste. And the front desk personnel are super helpful, letting me store one suitcase for a few days at no charge, while I visited other islands near Okinawa. I wouldn't hesitate to stay at this hotel in Naha again, and would recommend it to anyone wanting to stay near the ferry terminal for the Kerama Islands!
Onna
We stayed for a week. The hotel is located in quiet place, not far from Nabee and Manza beaches, yes, we hear the road 58, but it was not a big problem, when the windows were closed. We asked for late check-in, so the staff was waiting for us until 10:00 pm. Everything what we asked about, they helped us. They speak only Japanese, but Google translate helped us a lot, we communicated without any problems. I recommend this budget hotel for all, who explore Okinawa by car (there is a car park) and who would like to save money.
The Abest hotel is in a great location, being at the start of the main shopping street in Okinawa Naha. Close to shops and restaurants. Easy access to the monorail and buses. Staff are friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. The Abest Hotel has washing machines and dryers, which are reasonably priced and are very useful for keeping clothes clean and reducing the amount of clothing you need to pack. Monorail takes you directly from the airport to the stop near the hotel.
Ginowan
My tattoo artist find this hotel for me and it’s really close to the tattoo studio! If anybody wanna get legit tattoo in Okinawa I recommend ‘Black Ocean’ tattoo studio and also stay in this hotel. The spacious balcony, the kitchen equipment and the bathroom tub. I can’t speak Japanese but the staff is really kind and use translation app to communicate with me, and make sure to introduce me the hotel as well. The stay is really pleasant! I enjoy my bath time at the end of day.
The hotel was very impressive upon arrival. The amenities in the hotel were great, 2 swimming pools, private beach, 2 x restaurants. The staff were amazing. So friendly and professional. My Japanese was very very basic, but thankfully many could speak English well. Breakfast was an array of so many different types of foods. Very delicious. and there Okinawan lime juice was definitely a fave in our household. We would 100% return. Such attention to detail, Very impressed
Best little hotel in Okinawa - new, super clean, friendly and thoughtful staff and very quiet. Our room included a nice size refrigerator/freezer, microwave and kitchen sink along with a desk and two chairs plus a small balcony and all the toiletries you would ever need - hair brush, toothbrush, Japanese hand towel, razor, etc. We had two double beds, and the mattresses are hard which I prefer. We stayed here for 16 days and will do again if ever returning to Okinawa.
Location was perfect to enjoy various beaches and to explore north and south of Onna (car is however a must in Okinawa). Very big room for Japan standards and lovely balcony with sea view. The “private beach” in front of the hotel is lush, it’s a shame they don’t rent shades and lounges to enjoy it best. Cleaning was spotless and overall a nice cosy feeling because the hotel is on the small side (we hate high rise gigantic hotels). Toiletries for free at reception.
The location was really convenient. It's just taken less than 5 minute by walking from Naha bus terminal. The room was wider than other general business hotels in Japan. The free welcome drinks and snacks was really nice. You can enjoy it at the lobby everyday of your stay. Even the breakfast was not much variety, it covered the main things which was famous in Okinawa. Also, the room was very clean and all staffs were really friendly. Highly recommend!!
Nago
I'm usually too lazy and I don't like writing hotel reviews, but in this case I give it 10 out of 10! Beautiful view from the window, great surroundings, wonderful nature, bikes available, great design.... I would give it 11 points out of 10 if the bikes were bigger :) The owners of this beautiful, intimate hotel were very nice and helpful. For people looking for the real Okinawa, Stay Hotel will be a great starting point.
This property meet and exceeded expectations. It was big for a Japanese apartment. It was in fantastic shape and had everything included that you need for day to day living. The cleaning staff is very polite and did a great job. This property is located within walking distance to Camp Kinser. Local stores and food is also within walking distance. This is our second stay here and we will stay again when we return to Okinawa.
Onna
By far the best place I have stayed during 2 weeks of travel on Okinawa. The owner and the staff were exceptional, location just in front of a lovely secluded beach, the room was Japanese style…very nice, clean, comfortable, absolutely quiet. Little local supermarkets close by and Enzo, Italien restaurant in easy walking distance. Wifi was working very well. Everything was to my satisfaction. Strongly recommended
This room/apartment was spacious compared to other rooms that we stayed in Japan. We even had a balcony. Even if we did not cook it can be nice to know that it is possible in this accommodation. The location was great next to the bus and tram station. It is also very easy to take the bus to go to the port and take the ferry to visit the different islands around Okinawa by bus.
It was one of the nicest hotels I’ve stayed in Japan. The pool AND hot baths were amazing additions to our stay. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. You are in the middle of Okinawa, next to a busy street and you feel like on tropical holidays. Restaurant was also really good. We had drinks by the pool every night ! I would definitely go back there !
Everything is prefect. Best hotel I have ever stayed so far. The hotel facilities are very clean, even the balcony in the room is so clean that I don’t have to wear a slipper out. The view from the room is fantastic, where you can see the famous sunset beach. Hotel buffet has a lot of selection compared to other hotels in Okinawa and the foods is authentic and delicious.
The rooms are very nice, with a queen bed, sofa and really big TV and refrigerator with freezer. Very nice for the price with free coffee and soda machine in the lobby. Can't beat the big shower and tub and definitely the all in one washer and dryer combo in the room. I stayed at this hotel the whole three months I was in Okinawa. Very nice Hotel and helpful Staff
We loved it. The location was really great. It was away from the main drag but not too far that you cannot walk it. I think it was about 800m flat. It's not a fancy hotel, but it has all the basic amenities (and maybe more) that you would need in a hotel room. It was very spacious and comfortable. I highly highly recommend Hotel Pescatore when you are in Okinawa!
The customer service at Nest Naha Hotel was wonderful. The location was perfect, and the hotel was very clean. My only complaint is that the room was too small for two adults and two children. When I booked, I specified that it was for four people. If you’re staying at the hotel just for a short time and spending most of your time exploring Okinawa, it’s perfect.
Always a great experience at Rihga Royal Gran. I usually book this hotel the night before I fly out of Okinawa, for last minute relaxation and convenience to the airport. The staff is amazing, the room (especially the bathroom) is spectacular, and a quick monorail ride to the airport. There are lots of great places nearby for dinner and/or drinks.
