Fosano is a little village in Piedmont; there isn't much to do there but what is great is that it's very well connected to the wine areas (Barolo and Barbaresco) so then you can rent a car and travel around.
Its close to Alba / Bra and all the possible nearby locations such as Barolo and all the rest in Piedmont - great location to be outside of the towns but still close to all ( needs a car of course )
The on-off bus tour in Torino is excellent... but skip line B. Line A and C are fantastic. Line C is the royal palace grounds. I also recommend walking around. You will find so much! Pair this up with a Piedmont card and you'll be good to go! I got into so many museums and castles, it was fantastic.
Absolutely beautiful, world class city with fantastic food scene...wonderful restaurants, enotecas, and cafes with locally sourced, traditional Piedmont cuisine. Great shopping and cultural activities as well. Easy to get around on foot, by bike or public transportation. Wide flat streets make for good walking everywhere. Great art and architecture, parks, outdoor markets, and churches too. Especially liked the Egyptian museum, the church of San Lorenzo, Palazzo Madama, and strolling the many lovely piazzas. Don't miss Mulassano for coffee and tramezzini, as well as Bicerin and Cafe Torino for their historical elegance. Consorzio or Tre Galli both fabulous for dinner.
We visited primarily for the Salone del Gusto and stayed in the old town. Fun city and a great place to start out if you want to explore Piedmonte. Lots of history and some very good food
I ended up in Susa because it's where my great grandparents were from, so it was a bit of a genealogical pilgrimage (and nice to be in a city filled with Rivettis!). The fact that it turned out to be one of the most beautiful and interesting places I've seen in Italy (and I've been all over) was just plain lucky. Susa has seen lots of action over the years because of its strategic location in a valley passage through the Alps between Italy and France. Because of that, it has architectural and cultural treasures from many cultures and all periods, all the way back to Ancient Rome, the Middle Ages, the Savoy dynasty, etc. Beautiful scenery, beautiful ruins, beautiful churches, lots of delicious food, and I just loved the energy of this town: quiet but not boring. Side trips we took included one to Sacra di San Michele, the abbey built into the top of a mountain on which Umberto Eco is said to have based his abbey in The Name of The Rose. It is the symbol of Piedmont and one of my top 5 do not miss sights in all of Italy, We also visited the little town of Mattie (where my family is specifically from). Very fascinating and friendly little village up a winding mountain road. The people in this area are very happy to meet visitors from the United States (doesn't seem like they get many). These are the places you won't hear about when you're planning a vacation to Italy, so I feel like my family history handed me a real gift with these towns. Highly, highly recommend.
The historical centre is small, yet has a clear sight of Roman and Medieval times. There are a lot of churches in the area, all of which have distinctive styles and of course all are beautiful. The town's museum although small, yet has a unique collection of antiquities, excavated items from the town, showing the town history since neolithic period. The underground tour is also recommended for those who love history. On the other hand, Alba (as well as many other towns in Piedmonte) is famous for the wine. Also, it's the capital, the hometown of Nutella, so what do you expect?
Alba is a small town with great restaurants and an excellent base for touring Piedmont hill town so of Barola, La Morra, Trieso, Neive, etc. The town is very walkable with sidewalk cafes on the many squares
Great base for exploring Piedmonte. Just be ready for angst-creating crazy drivers, scooters, motorcycles, and don't rely on Garmin's Europe maps/directions.
A very clean lake city with many good restaurants. It is within an hour's ride of the Milan Airport and offers modern, deluxe hotels among Italy's antiquity. There are many outdoor restaurants within the "centro" piazzas. All are excellent and offer traditional Italian favorites as well as food typical of the lake and Piedmontese region There are boats that cruise the lake and are easily available to guests of the Stresa hotels.
Perfect for a our group on a brief wine and food stopover in Barbaresco / Piedmont. Great location, good value rooms, excellent wine bar and good breakfast. Friendly, helpful, gracious and kind staff, who went out of their way to help us find dinner reservations at a time when most dining options were closed. Neive is in a perfect location for tasting and dining visits through Barbaresco and neighbouring areas of Piedmont, and hotel is in an excellent location within what is a very picturesque village.
Barolo
Spacious modern apartment with great facilities, secure parking and comfy beds. Beautiful views of the vineyards from the windows and only a short 10 min walk from center of Barolo. When we arrived Diego warmly welcomed us it immediately felt very homely with the fridge stocked with milk, juice and water also provided coffee for the moka and small breakfast snacks. Plenty of towels and bedding available as well. Also the wine they produce is exceptional. Will definitely return when next in Piedmont.
The hotel is very pretty and authentic, housed in a historical building typical of Piedmontese towns. The very central location and vicinity to bars, cafes and supermarkets add to the hotel's charm. The room was bigger than I thought, and I particularly liked the quaint separate washing basin with big framed mirror... it looked like a theatre dressing room. I had dinner in the hotel restaurant and, dining on my own, I was taken care of and pampered with the utmost care and discretion.
Remarkable room, beautiful experience, wonderful city! Just footsteps off the main Corso Nizza and nearby Piazza Galimberti - many delicious food options around, small lanes, street side cafes, bars restaurants. For those looking for a unique, boutique stay, with cultural and architectural charm - this is a must. The apartment is well equipped, spacious and comfortable - a relaxing home base for touring this magnificent city, close to Piedmont Wine country!
Excellent experience, we even received an upgrade of the room from the hotel staff, with a fabulous view over the sweet old town of Mondovi. The hotel serves as a perfect base to explore Mondovi and around the bucolic Piedmont region. If one travels by car, there is a spacious underground parking lot. We also enjoyed the breakfast, I especially liked the famed Mortadella :) and the overall service of the hotel. Thank you and hope to be back soon !
Alba
This property exceeded our expectations on all levels! For our first trip to the Alba region of northern Italy, we didn’t know what to expect. This is a very welcoming and comfortable property tucked away in the rolling hills of Piedmont. Alba is about six miles away and a wonderful day trip. Large rooms here, friendly service and a great vineyard tour. Breakfasts are magnificent. We would return in a heartbeat. Excellent restaurants are close by!
Tortona
Casa Cuniolo is the perfect stay if you are travelling around Italy and visiting the region of Piedmont. The guest house was built in 1936 and Gabriella, the current owner, made an excellent host. Our room was full of history, from the bedding to the pieces of furniture around. Gabriella was waiting for us at breakfast where a banquet was prepared for us, from sweet to savoury delicacies provided by local businesses. Highly recommended
La Morra
Absolutely everything about this lovely apartment is great. The owners have really tried to think of everything you might possibly need to enjoy your stay and got it right. The space, the facility, the garden - it’s just all great. We loved our week here and would come back again in a heartbeat. The town of La Morra is also fabulous and the region of Piedmonte has so very much to offer. Highly, highly recommended.
This is definitely a magnificent place to stay when in Alb or indeed Piedmont. Savio is the host with the most and his generosity was extraordinary and including a surprise box of cookies on day 4. The apartment is very well equipped and everything works well. The car park is off the street and right next door. Whilst a quite location you can easily walk into the town centre. Just a magical experience.
The hotel was spotless, very comfortable, warm, large very comfortable bed, lovely clean crisp duvets, staff was very helpful and lovely people.Fabulous breakfast- eggs, ham, cheese, fruit, juice, wonderful cappuccino! Great location for exploring the Langhe area of Piedmont. As I understand they have a wonderful restaurant but it was closed for renovations until April 1st. We will catch it next time.
La Morra
Do yourself a favour and stay at Sky and Vineyards when visiting the Piedmont. A comfortable 2-bedroom holiday apartment located in La Morra, a cute little town on top of a hill, you will get one of the best of views from the large balcony of Sky and Vineyards, overlooking the town of Barolo and the many vineyards around. Ilaria is a great host and will give you any information you require.
Borgo Vecchio was exquisite! we had a larger suite with extraordinary views! Plus, on hot summer days the AC worked perfect! Kept us very comfortable, especially at night for a perfect slumber. Also, the hotel restaurant had some of the best Piedmont food and other Italian dishes and desserts of our entire tour of Italy trip!! A place you must eat at.
Asti
Lovely spacious & comfortable bedroom. Monica was very welcoming and extremely helpful.Had no idea that Asti had an amazing food festival on the weekend we were travelling from France through Italy and Monica gave us tips on the best restaurants to visit.😋🇮🇹🍝 super tasty breakfast from fresh strawberries, local Piedmont cheese and salamis.
La Morra
Our stay at Relais Le Rocche exceeded our expectations from the moment we arrived. The location of the hotel was perfect for touring the wine region of Piedmont. The property itself was luxurious and the staff went out of there way to accommodate our every need and request. It was sad to leave after our week long stay.
Beautiful, wonderfully located, cosy hotel. Ideal place to stay in capital of Piedmont. Very comfortable rooms, well equipped with all necessary amenities, clean, nice interior design. English speaking staff. There is a possibility to leave luggage before check-in and after check-out, without any additional fees.
La Morra
The location is amazing - you overlook the Piedmontese hills and take in the beauty of everything. We got upgraded to a bigger room (with a steam room in it!) and it was just so lovely. The restaurant is incredible, and the wine tour is an absolute must. We are so pleased we got to stay at this amazing hotel.
The apartment has a beautiful garden in the middle of vineyards and hazelnut plantations. Very relaxing to sit and enjoy the view of the Piedmont hills. The interior is authentic and stylish will everything you need provided. Hope we can visit again one day.
Asti
Fabulous spacious apartment, within walking distance of the old city Centre. Great breakfast selection provided. Host, Lorenzo was lovely and even collected us from the train station. A good place to stay in Asti to explore Piedmont from.
Wonderful family-run hotel and restaurant. A pearl of traditional Piedmont culture. Reasonable prices for a luxury stay. They upgraded us to a suite for free (availability-based) and it was just a perfect apartment!
Neive
everything was amazing!!!! the breakfast is not to be missed! the room was very recently renovated with taste and incredibly thoughtfully. perfect hotel to say in the piedmonte region and Neive is amazing.
