The property was fabulous from check in to check out. All the staff were extremely friendly and very welcoming. The room was well appointed with lots of little fine touches such as a candle and matches by the bath. The wine tasting was fun to do, the food in the restaurant was delicious, we ate in there both nights and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I had a facial in the spa which was the best I’ve had in a long time. We were sad to leave and would happily have spent a few more days there exploring the vineyards and relaxing. But I have to say the staff made it! Thank you for looking after us so well, we will be back!

Dunedin
This hostel is central to Dunedin, so you do not have to walk far to the restaurants and bars in the Octagon. The hostel sits over a large bar with a lot of billiard tables. Seems very popular with the locals and college students studying at the nearby University of Otago. The dorm rooms are typical bunk bed layouts with budget twin mattresses. The bathrooms were reasonably clean and a decent kitchen area. They have free breakfast, but it is a pretty minimal offering.
Waipiata
An isolated farm homestead built in the 1880s which retains its historical character especially in the lounge. Bathroom down the corridor. I visited in the middle of a Central Otago winter and think the venue would be suitable for some people during summer and warmer seasons. The nearest dining site is the Waipiata Hotel which is a 5 minute drive away and I was impressed by the menu options for such a local farming community social centre. I enjoyed my meal.
Dunedin
Modernized clean units with good kitchenette including oven and induction stove top; strong water pressured shower; good bed options; plenty clothes hooks on walls in bedrooms and bathroom. In a quiet location with easy car parking. Good value. Our 2 bedroom apartment had a nice north facing porch. Great location to explore the recently finished Otago Cycle Loop on cycle, or peaceful ocean side runs:)
One of the prettiest locations in NZ to stay, its perfect for exploring the best of central Otago high country. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, and really aim to make ones stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. If you are travelling around Queenstown/Wanaka, the Cardrona Hotel absolutely should be at the top of your list of places to stay.
Cromwell
This is a very spacious comfortable separate loft apartment with a well equiped kitchen. The bathroom is also a good size. The furniture and decor is nice and the fire place is very welcomed during our mid winter stay. Location is good being a 5min drive to Cromwell town centre. If you are looking for a nice vineyard stay in central Otago, this will be hard to beat.
North Dunedin, Dunedin
The rooms and appearance of 2 level apartment was fantastic and easy to use. Room heating options in the lounge, bedroom corridor and bathroom. Spacious rooms and well organized. Full kitchen. Great privacy, no noise from the road. TVs in lounge and bedroom. Short walking distance to Otago University and Museum. On bus route to central city.
Nice property on the South side of Dunedin, very convenient to the Otago peninsula and the wildlife activities there. There are excellent restaurants within close walking distance. (the on-site restaurants were closed when we were there). The kitchen was quite adequate for breakfast and lunch. The soaking tub was much appreciated!
Quite possibly the very best accommodation we have stayed in, in New Zealand! We were in Dunedin to register our daughter at Otago University and the apartment was the perfect location and offered the perfect amenities for our stay. Spotlessly clean, and with everything you need to make your stay a memorable one.
Mosgiel
Great hotel in the middle of town. Staff were very friendly and kept the room in good condition with regular servicing. Room was very comfortable and warm during a classic Otago winter. Strongly recommend to anyone staying in the region, will definitely be back.
North Dunedin, Dunedin
Location close to Otago Museum and University campus but also just a short walk (10 minutes) to restaurants on George St. Friendly owner with nice cat. Good layout of motel and inside the apartment. Very clean.
Ranfurly
We used the facilities whilst on the Otago Rail Trail. Very impressed with hotel room, value for money, cleanliness, breakfast, friendliness of staff, bike storage everything. 110% recommend. Thanks
well managed hotel with good food, friendly staff. rooms well equipped. breakfast included. unbeatable room rates. located at the central otago railway line bike path.
We didn’t have breakfast at the hotel while we can’t recommend the food. The hotel is a convenient location for the first church of Otago and the city center.
Dunedin
Great location for view of Otago Peninsula. We loved wandering the gardens in the evening. The breakfast was really good with great service.
Mosgiel
Excellent stopover on the Otago Rail Trail. Beautiful country location and friendly hosts. Lovely dinner at the nearby Lauder Hotel.
The hotel was great. Suited me to stay as I was cycling the Otago Gold Trail.
Amazing property few minutes away from the centre. I loved the location and the view of the lake was breathtaking! Friendly and supportive team. I loved the sauna and the cold pool after a day of hike. Exactly what I needed to relax. Will definitely choose it again when I’m in Queenstown.
Lovely stay, great views and short walk to town.
Great hotel, great location fronting the water.
The room the view was spectacular and the breakfast was insane!
