Good place to shop for local stuff to bring back to your country for gift. The money changer near the food stall has very good exchange rate. Unbelievable rate was slightly higher than market rate. Cashew nuts , white, black and even red peppers are available. Oh! And of course local fresh fruits. Must try durian, jackfruit and many more that I can’t name but must try. There are good.

This market is a busy but nice place to see! I enjoyed seeing all of the souvenirs and food for sale. I visited on my walkvietnam.com outdoor escape game, which led us through here. Definitely an experience not to miss in Ho Chi Minh

I loved it but make sure no mater what the price they give you to say half of that. They were always taking it. But the prices on the shoes and things which are nice to me are at a good price already. Watch out for these people running around trying to clean your shoes they want way too much and just start doing them even if you say no.

Great experience interesting bartering which you must do as to achieve a reasonable price. As a guide always half what they say or ask and try to get a little under half to achieve fair price for both parties.

The facade is beautiful, but it's not a place for seasoned travellers - it's a tourist trap because it's iconic and more for people who are looking for a great bargain and designer knockoffs.

Horrendously overpriced (more than 300%) compared to markets in the area selling the same items.
Very pushy stall owners.
You can get much better quality for less within walking distance.
Go look around, but know that you will be overpaying

Staff were very helpful. Room size and cleanliness was good enough for the cost. Location (of Song Anh 1 Hotel - because that's where got moved to, see below) was directly opposite Ben Thanh Markets so we could just walk to shop. Also a cute little Banh Mi place directly below so good for breakfast.
The hotel room was large, clean and provided water and toiletries. The bathroom was clean and a good size. The breakfast had lots of choice and the front desk staff were helpful. Great location for tourists or first time visitors to HCMH - near restaurants and Ben Thanh market.
Pros:
- Location is superb, very near Ben Thanh Market! (Also near the newly-opened Saigon metro, Ben Thanh Station). Also a couple of block away from many major sites in Saigon, such as the City Hall, the Independence Hall, the Cafe Apartments, and for those who may want to walk more, can also reach the Post Office and Notre Dame as well.
- Room was comfortable, with basic amenities.
- Clean!
- Has fast internet.
- They respond quickly to queries.
- Has an elevator!
Great location - walking distance to Ben Thanh Markets, Saigon Square, Cafe Apartments, Bui Vien walking street and the night street markets. Good breakfast.
The location was amazing! Right at the heart of Saigon, it’s a walkable distance from all the main attractions like the Ben Thanh Market, Saigon Square, the cafe apartments etc. Surrounded by lots of cafes and malls too. The staff were very informative and friendly! We actually got to the hotel super early but the staff managed to get us our room fairly quickly which we are super grateful about.
We had a spacious 4 bedroom renovated apartment. 4 bedrooms with tvs and individual air conditioners, 3 bathrooms, huge kitchen and most importantly, a washing machine & dryer. Breakfast was lovely. The hotel was in an awesome location, close to shops, Ben Thanh markets, restaurants and tourist locations

If you decide to go to the Ben Thanh market, be prepared to have you bargaining hat on. Everyone is friendly but there's a lot of grabbing and there is no air conditioning so it can be a bit overwhelming. Be comfortable with the currency conversion too so you can definitely grab some real bargains on souvenirs to take home; especially things like coffee and decorative lanterns and furniture. Opposite the Ben Thanh market and opposite the HCMC Fine Arts Museum is a brilliant street to buy antiques.
