Everyone told us to go over and I have to say we were disappointed. The ferry ride over is nice but the actual attractions except for the fort at the top really aren't worth it. The walk up the hill to the fort is pretty steep so not great for small kids or people with mobility issues. I would recommend kayaking over and enjoying the island from the water or doing something else.

Lokrum island was the best part of Dubrovnik for us.
Lokrum island was the best part of Dubrovnik for us. You have to walk through the old town to get to the small harbour where boats run regularly to Lokrum which is relatively close by. (From memory maps are given out with tickets.) There are a number of places to eat and drink on the island. We headed over the island to the right n found fabulous rock slabs with sea rock pools where people swam in the sea or sunbathed. We headed for the Dead Sea initially we think n thetr is a great beach bar there.

It is unspoiled, still the condition of the paths could be improved, also more and better direction signs and better information of the history are needed. "Game of Thrones" was fun to see, but it should not be THE most important site.

Everything! Josip thought of all the details. He supplied coffee, creamer and a bottle of wine. He also set up a driver to pick us up for our return to the airport. Josip was very responsive when I texted him. He always answered right away. There was a dishwasher and washing machine. The balcony had a view that overlooked the island of Lokrum, Banja Beach and Old Town. Table, chairs and a roll out awning was also on the balcony.
We rented the unit with the sea view and the view was amazing. You could see old town, the port, and Lokrum island very well. The location was extremely convenient and the unit had plenty of room with a bedroom, kitchen area and bath. It was very homey and felt like we were visiting and staying with Croatian relatives in their in law unit which was very personally furnished versus other more sterile hotel-type units. The washing machine was a huge plus.
Very nice apartment (No. 2) with a beautiful private terrace overlooking Dubrovnik Old Town and the Lokrum island. Another shared terrace is also available. Very close to the Old Town Gates. The Cable Car station and bus station is across the street.
The host is very nice. We enjoyed talking with her.
Prelijep stan sa divnim pogledom na stari grad i otok Lokrum. Odlična lokacija. Divna gazdrarica! 👌🏻
The location was very convenient and provided exceptional views of the Old Town, Lokrum Island and the sea. The villa was very modern, well appointed and provided all the latest amenities. The private patio with hot tub and outdoor seating made for an even more enjoyable stay.
This apartment was conveniently located up the street from the Ploce Gate into Old Town. We had incredible views from the windows which overlooked Banje Beach and the island of Lokrum. It was perfect for our group of 7.
Beautiful modern 2BR 2 ½ BA apartment overlooking Lokrum Island, (across from Villa Argentina), close to Pluce Gate of Old Town Dubrovnik. Close to food shops, and all OT Dubrovnik had to offer. Would stay again and will recommend to friends.
The Villa was clean, well equipped and in a beautiful location. We made great use of the pool and the occasional dip in the sea, also a fantastic restaurant 50 metres away. The BBQ and outdoor space was fantastic and made for a relaxing family holiday. We did three trips kayaking around Lokrum at sunset which was good fun, a bit of a workout as well, then a relaxing trip to visit the Elaphite Islands and the Walls, which I would recommend any of these trips. Also I would like to say Djana went above and beyond to make sure our stay was superb.
Everything was great! The location is close to old town (15 min walk or cheap taxi/uber and a bus stop right outside the front gate), the property itself is spotless and comfortable with great AC, and the view of old town and Lokrum is absolutely incredible. The host was SO accommodating with check in/check out it made everything easy and flexible. This was a great place and we loved our time in Dubrovnik!
Traveled with my wife and three children (16, 14, 11) and we stayed in Dubrovnik for two days which was enough to hit the main sites, do a day trip to Lokrum and visit some nice restaurants. We rented two separate rooms which were both on the same floor so it was easy to go and check on the 16 and 14 year olds. Apartments were modern, nice and cool, clean, not too many stairs to climb (but some..) Check in and check out was smooth, keys were in a key box, never met anyone.
