My room was beautiful and clean, and you get your room to yourself. The aircon was great in summer. Kitchen facilities and common areas were great and also very clean. It is located in the cute town of Kutchan, and it easy to walk around the town.

The host is very nice and provided me with a room even I just pay for one bed. The whole place is just like home and quiet. Probably it's because I stay during off-season.

Surrounded by nature, Boken Kazoku is a traditional 90-year-old building with a terrace and a playground with mountain views. I guess I didn’t read the description but it’s a really cool property, it’s an old school turned into a hostel. The owners were extremely nice and communicated everything well. There a bus stop for both directions at the entrance making it very accessible to either town. When I got hurt and had to go to the hospital the grandma at the property who used to be a nurse helped re bandage my ankle after the hospital didn’t do a good job and everyone checked on me every day. It was really sweet.
