The lakeside location of this hotel is excellent, right in the heart of the town and close to restaurants and shops. It has a restaurant which serves very good food and has an extensive, if somewhat expensive, wine list. It is a comfortable establishment. The information that was supplied about the town's limited traffic zone was comprehensive and helpful. The breakfast was very good.

The underground parking was excellent—private and secure, making it very convenient. The hotel's location is easily accessible, which is a definite plus. However, the room felt a bit dated, and I was disappointed to find there was no blanket provided for the night.

A lovely small town with narrow, cobbled streets. Easy access to boat trips across the lake. The Basilica on Isola San Giulio is outstanding and definitely worth a visit. Swimming in the lake is fabulous! Good bars and restaurants in the town. L'Officina was a lovely wee bar with great cocktails and friendly staff.

A lovely town devoid of traffic with a varied range of bars and restaurants. Lovely walks around the town and lake, plus boat trips to other towns on the lake and the island.
It does get busy at weekends with visitors. There is a big car park to leave your car, about 5 min walk to town square; payment is automated and simple. You can drive into the town at certain times of the day.

Beautiful historic village with a peaceful lakeside piazza...
Beautiful historic village with a peaceful lakeside piazza with many restaurants and cafes. Our favourite restaurant was La Piazzeta in the main square. Lots of gelato shops to help manage the summer heat too! Great little town to just walk about. We didn’t travel too far from the village during our stay as had done lots of driving in our last location. Good area for road biking though.

Staying in the old town was really special.
Staying in the old town was really special. Just a great size to wander through the cobbled streets and enjoy the lake. A boat trip and walk around the island was stunning. It was peaceful and tranquil especially in the evening. There were many interesting bars and eateries and the people were very friendly.

We stayed for one night ie Friday 31st May.
We stayed for one night ie Friday 31st May. Our visit to Lake Orta was ruined by this Hotel. A very strange man whose name I believe was Frederico checked us in. He grabbed my hand when I went to take some sweets from the bowl on the desk! When we tried to take a shower in our room we found there was no hot water and the problem was not fixed during our stay. The staff have an unhelpful attitude bordering on rudeness. When we checked out there was another couple bitterly complaining about various issues and they were offered a full refund. I paid £280.29 for one night"s accommodation and it would have been expensive at half the price. How can you let a room to guests knowing there is no hot water? I feel we should be refunded the full cost of our stay.

Orta San Giulio is an authentic gem of a town on the banks...
Orta San Giulio is an authentic gem of a town on the banks of Lake Orta. Lots of cobbled streets, interesting shops, plenty of good places to eat or enjoy an aperitif. It doesn’t feel as touristy as some of the bigger towns on the larger lakes. Gorgeous medieval buildings and an amazing church. Well worth a visit.

The location of Hotel Bocciolo is wonderful - overlooking, but also elevated above Lake Orta. Breakfast was perfect, and we could sit outside and admire the view. Our room was private with a rear patio that, had we had more time, could have been great to use. Parking was perfect. We were able to walk down to the edge of Lake Orta within 3-4 minutes, and the view is incredible!! The staff were incredibly helpful.
Best location in town. Breakfast is horrible. No proper coffee machine. Very poor selection. Buffet a mess. Room is ok but the name suite does NOT apply. Hotel is old and it shows. Best of all was the friendly reception and the staff in general. Truly friendly, helpful people who went out of their way to help.
Great host, awesome place, we had a picnic on balcony, host came to meet us, nice free parking in walking distance. Everything was top class, like in 5 stars hotel rather then rental. Highly recommended.
Beautifully located apartment in historical building, right in the center of Orta San Giulio. Wide range of restaurants and bars nearby. Very nice landlord.
