There was a kitchen that I can prepare my meal, which was great. Pity they didn't have a toaster.
Location was all right. Very much into old Niigata arcade I used to know. Very charming idea to convert a shop
to a guest house.

The mood was very warm, there was a temporary coffee shop open within the guest house during my stay, and the mix of clients from the coffee shop and the residents was totally fun. The house itself feels traditional in a good way.

The room was clean enough. Although, it was a single bed, but there were extra mattress and sheets, so had no problem to make sleeping space for 2 people.
Also, room had refrigerator, TV and air conditioner.

Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travellers who prefer unfussy accommodation with a personal touch. They are usually family-run, and your host will provide local recommendations and optional meals. Often cheaper than regular hotels, guest houses can also feature a cosy living room and a garden.
I spent two nights in Niigata and opted for this charming little guesthouse. The rooms are a little larger than capsules, but comfortable enough, and all spaces are kept very clean. The guesthouse is filled with Ghibli memorabilia and fun board games, and the neighborhood itself is a cool place to visit. Wish I could have met the dog, Kuku!
Very spacious and clean. The property was very modern, warm inside, fast wifi throughout the building. One of the nicest hostels/guest houses we've stayed at in Japan. A comfortable place to base yourself for a few days if you are tired of the trains and city rush.
Convenient location which was near Sendai Station, and the price per night is fairly cheap. Pretty much what you can expect from these type of hostels.
