Place was lovely, very modern clean rooms, everyday cleaning service, air conditioner. We’ve been welcomed with sparkling wine and left with goodbye gift. If you have a birthday, you may count on a sweet surprise. There was a mini bar, kitchen with microwave and electric plate and small fridge, also espresso maker with excellent quality of coffee, kitchen utensils allowed for some cooking. The view showed surrounding hotel and ocean in the distance. I really enjoyed the 2 min. walk to the rooftop restaurant for breakfast because the view is amazing from there. The breakfast offered wide variety of products and meals, with porridge and some things for sandwich ( cheese, ham or marmalade/nuttella, home-made yogurt). There were also couple of positions a la carte and lots of sweet options. Coffee was also of great quality. I can’t comment on most of the meals because I am vegan and none of the meals a la carte was vegan, also it was possible to eat a sandwich only with marmalade or tomato/pepper for me the rest was just cheese and ham. I saw many people including my partner enjoyed that a lot, but if you are following vegan diet it may be cheaper to skip the breakfast option and buy yourself pack of oats and fruits because coffee is in the room anyway. However, the restaurant view was outstanding and I quite enjoyed that restaurant anyway. They always had a plant based milk so at least a porridge and fresh maracuja. The roof jacuzzi looked autor louring but I didn’t used it, bathing robes are included though as well as a daily ticket to natural swimming pools. We preferred a bit more the cachalote pools that were nearby so didn’t use the it but is is a very nice option closer to the hotel. The hotel also offers spa and massage if someone wish, as well as a little cowork area if you work remotely. WiFi was also excellent. In general, it was excellent and I would totally recommend to everyone to stay there.

Room was very comfortable. Staff amazingly polite, particularly Jaoa on reception. Breakfast excellent with a large variety to choose from. The entire hotel was exceptionally clean at all times. The view from the rooftop area was amazing. Also, as I spent my Birthday there I received a bottle of bubbly and a beautiful cake in my room on the day, a lovely touch from the hotel. Would definitely recommend and we will be returning to Barcelo on our next trip to Funchal

We had an amazing time in this absolute gorgeous and beautiful hotel. Everything was just magical - the rooms, the breakfast, the surroundings and the views, the calm, and decoration…thank you for also to the team that made our stay such a lovely experience from check-in to check-out. Many thanks also for the recommendation and reservation of the restaurant Lavrador - our dinner was soooo good! We highly recommend this perl in São Vicente with kids and also just for a romantic stay.

Saccharum - Resort & Spa is a luxury 5-star design hotel located on Calheta Beach, between the mountains of Madeira and the Atlantic Ocean. Saccharum was the perfect hotel to relax. The decoration is beautiful. Two outdoor pools, one indoor pool with amazing views. The breakfast and dinner had so many options and everything was so tasty. The bedroom was comfortable, spacious, and extremely clean. The staff was always friendly and ready to help. There was so many people staying there and still it was so silent and relaxing. Recommend this hotel 200%!.

Overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, Casa das Proteas is located at Estrada das Covas nº8, São Jorge, Madeira Island, 50 km from Funchal. The location is excellent as a starting point for several hikes. Teresa was the best host ever! We liked everything about the place!
