What a great sanctuary of a place and wonderful people! Nia, the Manager did all she could to welcome us and even stayed up late when we had unavoidable delays making us arrive well past check in. But the whole team are fantastic being attentive and responsive to our needs and requests with smiles at the ready. The inclusion of your choice of breakfast is fantastic and it was the nicest breakfast and cleanest accommodation we had in our month on Sumatra We stayed for 5 nights but would have happily stayed longer. We had to move one night as they were full and stayed at Carolina Cottages but couldn’t wait to get back to a much more welcoming and flexible vibe at Hub Tata If you want peaceful lakeside spot and a lovely vibe with helpful good people and a delicious breakfast this is your place! Set in Ambarita, 2.3 km from Batu Hoda Beach, Ruma Kaca Simanindo Bed Breakfast offers accommodation with a private beach area, free private parking, water sports facilities and a garden. My partner and I stayed here for two nights, and would have liked to stay two weeks if we had the time. Tio is such a lovely host as is all the staff. They went out of their way to make us feel at home and help us out with anything we needed. The room was super clean and comfortable, the garden is so beautiful and lovely to relax in, the food is tasty, the coffee was so so good, and the museum and grounds in general are lovely to explore and spend time in. Highly highly recommend staying here if you are anywhere around lake Toba!

Mario Lakeside Apartments is a recently renovated apartment in Tuk Tuk, where guests can make the most of its free bikes and garden. Spent my 27th birthday on this property and couldn't have found a better way to start the year. The beautiful clear water of the Toba had been tempting me from the day before and it was the first thing I did on the morning of my birthday. You can practically jump into the water from your room balcony (please don't. It's metamorphic and you'll die). But it was as stunning a view one can get, and the fact that this is so affordable makes it feel like a dream. Food was fantastic. I was traveling with my sister and she's vegetarian and so was the restaurant. Great dishes. Location top notch. You obviously need a scooter to get around and completely immerse yourself in the serene and breathtaking views of Toba. So yes, definitely get a scooter. Definitely stay here. And definitely eat at Jenny's, whcih is about 3km away. Ali and Katie (the owners) were super friendly and warm and welcoming and we've made friends for life. Can't wait to come back. (also, the pictures on booking.com don't truly reflect the actual size of thr room. It's MASSIVE. You actually get 2 full rooms, not 1. Pleasant pleasant surprise!)

Good host (Dong&Siska) for being so informative on suggesting where to go,where to take a ferry,they also provide bike rental.The room is nice and in front of the stay got a good cafe for me to find for breakfast,lunch or dinner..those solo traveller might like it because the cafe got live band performance twice a week and I didn't mind the noise coming for it honestly because I can still manage to sleep peacefully safe and sound due to the whole day spent moving around the island😂

Amazing hosts, super attentive and helpful, whatever you may need, just drop them a WhatsApp and they will fix it for you in no time. Very nice room, new and very comfy bed. During the night, this place is so quiet that at one point I literally checked if I had ear plugs on (did not), it's crazy quiet 😀. The view from the room is INCREDIBLE, lake Toba in all it's magnificence! This is what you come for to this place, nature, peace, relax. We will come back for sure.
