Featuring a fitness centre and a garden, Machrie Hotel & Golf Links is situated just outside Port Ellen. This 4-star hotel offers a 24-hour front desk and free WiFi. Such an amazing location with awesome views, and really friendly and helpful staff. Lots of lovely places to relax and appreciate the views, with a walk to the beach a must. The food was delicious, and so easy to explore the island from here. We loved our stay here!

Overall, the cottage was a win. We booked it to stay with friends and their family and while we all had to share the one bathroom, once we figured out who was sleeping where, it was fine. The cottage is close to Port Ellen, though we did drive into town it is walkable. We also walked to the singing sand beach and square lighthouse. The host was super helpful, communicated via email and WhatsApp, and they even responded to inquiries/messages after we checked out.

The Trout Fly Guest House offers accommodation in the centre of Port Ellen, minutes from the ferry terminal and only 3 miles from our local airport.

Situated on Islay, Dha Urlar offers 4-star accommodation with a garden and a shared lounge. Featuring a tour desk, this property also has outside decking. The hosts are the nicest and friendliest people on Earth. I love the area, the backyard with all the birds and rabbits. The quiet, and peace. The breakfasts made with love. Located in Bowmore, about a 20 min drive from Port Ellen and the big 3 distilleries, and another 20 to 30 from Bunnahabhain and Bruichladdich. Very central location in Islay. If you are lucky to visit on even a somewhat clear day, the views are spectacular. Thank you for making our trip on Islay amazing!

I can’t say enough nice things about this place! We booked rather last minute and it was the only place left in town. We weren’t expecting much but boy were we surprised! We had a room with a detached prive bath which was clean, conveniently located and much easier than it sounds. The room was so quiet and comfortable. By far the best part was the staff!! A rather large storm came through, canceling the ferries and forcing us to change plans. AJ was SO helpful with weather, ferry schedules and even packed us a breakfast to go as we had to leave early. I would definitely stay here again and recommend to my friends.
