Very interesting village, very important to get to know the history of Portugal. The Palace and the Santuário are a must and Taberna dos Conjurados is an excellent small restaurant ( reservationa are absolutely necessary)AlvaroPortugal

The bathrooms had amazing facilities, where marble is the local industry (see museum in Vila Vicosa). Rooms and public areas well air-conditioned. Sights in the area five-star, from those in the town to the four forts and walled city of Elvas, half an hour's easy ride away. Easy to get to from Lisbon or the South.HughPortugal
