Historically and culturally rich Kaunas is surrounded by lush forests and waterways. It is home to an array of churches, museums and a charming Old Town consisting of diverse architecture and locally famous landmarks.
Running through the heart of Kaunas, Nemunas River is the vein that pumps through Lithuania and connects the country to neighbouring Belarus. It has several bridges which link the centre of Kaunas to townships such as Aleksotas, Karmėlava and Prienai.

Amazongly beatiful and youngspirited city with a cozy atmosphere. Seemed to have endless beautiful paths to walk on, interesting boutiques and cafes and lots of displayed art and cultural heritage. Definately want to stay the next visit at least 3 days to explore the city more.Priit - Scored 1010

A little research on the internet will provide an abundance of information about attractions and sightseeing. There are more than enough places to eat and drink. The art yard is really quirky and interesting and the war museum is most impressive for the presentation of Lithuanian history. A nice touch was that we given a tablet to guide us around the place with an english commentary. We had no language difficulties as many people speak English.KKenUnited Kingdom - Scored 1010

Kaunas as we discovered has a rich military history. Beautiful city with a fantastic mixture of the old and new. Old Town is beautiful, with a lovely castle and Town Square, plus a stunning Basilica that everyone should visit. The people seem very relaxed and there is an air of intelligence and culture. The night life is available if you want it, but there are also other options if you prefer the quieter life - coffee shops, museums, etc. I loved my entire stay and want to go again! Big city, very beautiful.
Big city, very beautiful. Only problem that we experienced was with parking. It was very confusing, as the phone app and SMS service doesn’t accept Latvian phone numbers or even our bank cards (weird?!). Parking on Mindaugo prospect very affordable, free from 20-8, BUT- we were there at 21, and no option to check in our car for next days parking fee (after the 8 o clock). Had to wake up at 8, to go and check the car in and then return to sleeping :D also No option in english in the parking meter. Only lithuanian and german 😂ZaneLatvia
