I would recommend this smaller town to anyone looking for a highlight of Italy without the crowds. More laidback with just as much to see in town or other areas a short distance from Arezzo. Great base town to stay if you want to experience all there is in Tuscany

Arezzo itself is beautiful but be sure to visit the beautiful village of Cortona which is a quick train ride from Arezzo. Once you get off the train purchase shuttle bus tickets at the cafe at the station which cost $1.70 which will take you on the drive up to Cortona.

A beautiful charming historic city with so much to see and explore. It's full of life, shops, restaurant, cafes, market and offers many amenities. Loved walking through the narrow streets and the many interesting buildings, churches, museums, galleries and the historic Grande Piazza. I fell in love with Arezzo at first sight.

Arezzo is a treasure!
Arezzo is a treasure! We were only there for one night and I wished we had a little more time. We were there the day before the annual jousting event (first Sunday in September) and there was a lot of excitement in the air! It would have been very fun to watch that but we had to leave. There is a huge antique/market to explore, lots of restaurants, and sites around the city to explore. The film Life is Beautiful was filmed in Arezzo and there are markers showing which sites were in the movie.

I had a business interest to visit the city so i wish i had one more day to stay there, nice food around it maybe also was lucky because my host did recommend me nice places (Bibi boutique Arezzo}, less crowded than other cities but with better quality , the city is an uphill that is not too steep and walking in it is rewarding if you reach the top there is an old castle and a park that overlooks the surrounding area . i had tasty pizzas at Oscugnizzo pizzeria, and at Antica osteria l'agania you can enjoy Italian specialties in a nice ambience . wish you a great stay

In 2022, 6 of us stayed for a week in a villa on the Pomaio Vineyards property overlooking Arezzo (a highly recommended stay). May 2024 was my 2nd time in Arezzo, this time staying two nights in the heart of Old Town (Some of the film Life is Beautiful was filmed in Piazza Grande). Old Town and the adjacent park is beautiful and MUCH less touristy than other popular spots. It's a hidden gem in my opinion. It's also a great jumping off place to Cortona, Pienza, Montepulciano, San Gimignano, Siena, Volterra among other picturesque spots. And Pomaio has wine tasting, so if you can't afford to stay in one of their villas, do the wine tasting!

I recommend this hotel especially if you are dragging your suitcases using public transportations as the hotel is a short walk from Arezzo Train/Bus Station. The room was nothing out of ordinary, but was clean and I had everything I needed except an electric kettle(I was given a hot water from the bar). I felt some staff members were a little stiff in terms of communicating with me, but generally they were very helpful, polite, and pleasant.
This place was absolutely incredible. The rooms were huge and airy and finished to a great standard. The location is literally 5 minutes drive from the Centro by taxi and 20 mins walk. Micheal the owner, did the kindest gesture whilst we were there. We will definitely be back. If you want a refreshing hotel in Arezzo with incredible amenities this is the place. You won’t regret it!
The house was located in a good place to visit Arezzo, but in a ZTL area. And don't belive the owner, the nearest parking is 500m far (not 200 m as he says). It's not a residenza d'epoca, it's just an old house with rooms a bit renovated. 1st floor with no lift. Breakfast is good, specially if you ask for cheese and ham.
