It is in a super quiet surrounding, still 2 minutes from the sea. Staff was friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast served was varied and plentiful.
There's a rooftop swimming pool which has a nice view of the sea as well (although we didn't use, just went to have a look). Spacious room, comfortable bed. Thanks

The hotel is located in a beautiful and quiet spot, surrounded by cliffs. It features a private, sheltered rocky bay ideal for swimming and snorkeling. The breakfast and dinner were both good, and there are plenty of activities, such as diving, yoga sessions, and evening entertainment. It’s also an excellent base for exploring the southern coast, whether by rental car or through the many organized trips offered by the hotel. For those who enjoy hiking, both Plakias and Amundi Beach are reachable by foot.

A comfortable stay. The property is situated opposite a large beach and is very close to the town centre. The room facilities were good and the balcony has a great view of the bay.
There is an adjoining cafe that also proved very convenient with a good menu, and was still open in mid-november, when many others in the town were not!

The name in Greek means "flat" but the approach and coastline are quite mountainous and dramatic. Small hotels and many beachfront restaurants & cafes. The large crescent bay of sandy beach and the harbour provide a varied and yet not too busy destination.

Plakias is a beautiful place.
Plakias is a beautiful place. Not so big it feels overwhelming but big enough to have a good selection of nice bars and Tavernas to visit. The people are friendly, and the streets are clean. The gorge that you drive through to get to Plakias is also spectactular.

Plakias is a small, quiet town which has not yet been ruined...
Plakias is a small, quiet town which has not yet been ruined by mass tourism, and so stands out from other places on the southern side of the island. It has a cute waterfront promenade flanked by a wide range of shops, cafes, and restaurants, most of which seem to serve decent if not excellent food. There is a long sandy beach, with shallow and limpid waters, and a small river dissecting the town in two and hosting a small flock of barbary ducks. Although distances in Crete can be difficult to handle, Plakias is also a good base to explore the surrounding coastline, and some of the truly impressive dune beaches to the west (Orthi Ammos) and the east (Triopetra, Agios Pavlos) are well within reach.

Last minute booking coming off the beach to save us a trip back to Malia. Lovely hotel. Bed was comfortable and shower was hot. Breakfast was enjoyable and crossed the road to eat it on the seafront. Would recommend for a short stay. Would book again if in the area.

The villas are in a perfect, peaceful location near the beach, with the bars and restaurants in the town a short 15 minute walk away. They are very modern, comfortable and well equipped. The hosts are lovely and sorted an issue we had with the air con very quickly and even offered to let us use a spare villa while it was broken! Overall a fantastic stay and would recommend the villas to anyone wanting to stay in Crete.
Our stay at Plakias Bay Hotel was truly great. The host and all the employees treated us with great kindness. The breakfast was delicious, including a variety of mostly vegetarian spreads and cretan cheeses. From our balcony, we had a beautiful view of the whole bay. In 25 minutes, we could walk to the city centre with all the restaurants or in the other direction: to Damnoni Beach.
We have been in Crete for a month now and this is the best place so far 🙌. It's great location close to the beach ⛱️ and the town. Lots of taverns and bars. Apollo is very clean, bedding and towels changed regularly. It has a great pool and sunbed and a small bar area open all day. Breakfast was nice plenty of choice. Staff were excellent and very friendly 👏
Absolutely gorgeous hotel that was relaxing and beautiful. The staff were all exceptionally friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the tasty breakfast that was brought to our room each morning. Plakias is a great place to stay for beaches, restaurants and a good buzz! We loved our stay here! It was such a peaceful holiday!
A very comfortable hotel, perfectly situated in Plakias for shops & restaurants. The beach across the road. Staff were friendly helpful & professional .
