Superb food, idyllic location super friendly relaxed staff, not too formal either!
Traditional shops, characterful setting - an unexpected gem.
Traditional shops, characterful setting - an unexpected gem. Check out Gillams for lunch. And/or The Base restaurant for a special treat. Walk to the summit of the Sir John Barrow monument for a great view. Use the town as a base for exploring the local area. Head out to the Farmers Baycliff for a pub with great food. The Dock Museum in Barrow is not far, and worth a visit. Furness Abbey too. And there are beaches for winter walks on every hand.

Ulverston was a lovely little town.
Ulverston was a lovely little town. It had everything you needed, including nice pubs and restaurants and the locals could not be more friendly. It was the perfect landing spot to go and explore some of the Lake District before heading back down South.

Very friendly people who greeted me as I walked around and/or asked for help. We were there on the night of lanterns and watched it from the living room. A strong showing of community participation. I loved it.

A quaint ,typical Lake District town.
A quaint ,typical Lake District town. Windy streets with nooks and crannies and something to discover on every corner. An awesome selection of eateries and cafes. Some like "4 penny cafe" were quirky ,friendly and the food to die for. The scenery was beautiful. The town is clean and easy to navigate. It has a Thursday market. And of course ,the Laurel and Hardy museum.

This was a new experience for me, being not a hotel or villa, but a town centre apartment, so I didn't know what to expect, although the photos on Booking.com provided enough information to make the booking.
Apartment was surprisingly spacious, with modern decor, very clean, quiet and comfortable and located on one of Ulverston's streets with a minute walk to shops for provisions or pub/restaurants. Living room and kitchen were very well equipped and relaxing. Bedroom was cool and bed was very comfortable.
I recently stayed at the Sun Inn in Ulverston and found several aspects to appreciate and others that could use improvement. The inn's central location is excellent, making it easily approachable, with a Tesco Express conveniently located next door. It's important to note that the Sun Inn is not a hotel but a pub, which adds to its local charm. For those travelling by car, three parking bays are available at the back, provided on a first-come, first-served basis.
This is a delightful property - beautifully presented throughout and really well equipped. The comprehensive information provided about the cottage made it easy to find and modify (for example) the heating. The cottage has the advantage of being within easy walking distance of the town centre, whilst still being quiet enough to sleep with a window open.
We didn't have breakfast, however the facilities met our expectations. The location was brilliant with easy access to the town centre. The views were amazing and the cabin was clean and very welcoming.
