This town by the sea is pleasant enough.
This town by the sea is pleasant enough. The beaches are fine shingle but that's okay. There is a long sea promenade that has plenty of bars cafes restaurants and shops along its length. It has historical remnants, street cats that are friendly. This place is a little more chilled out. Go to Nerja if you want a little more commercial. Almunecar has a little more taste. Parking is easy outside of July and August. Check out the pizzas at Otro Farinel. A take away is perfect as the beach is across the road or the raised promenade that looks out to the sea with plenty of benches is very nearby. Sit down and munch away. Their trade is constant and many locals can't be wrong..Southern - Scored 1010

Almunecar is a lovely little town with something for everyone. There are lots of places to visit, to eat, to explore, to wander. The town and the beach are equally attractive. I loved this town - it has a compact centre, with lots of interesting shops and bars, and some lovely houses with balconies covered in plants, particularly up by the stunning castle, which has a great display and stunning views. Everything is easy to reach on foot and the two main beaches - Playa San Cristobal and Playa La Caletilla - are very wide, and -because they are mostly pebbles rather than sand - lead to water which is beautifully clear and warm - and full of pretty little fish to watch!MaryUnited Kingdom - Scored 1010
