Fantastic place … Ancient Town is fabulous. No motor vehicles, motor bikes or bikes apart from service vehicles. To get a taxi you have to walk to outside the town and delivery drivers have to park outside and walk the delivery in. Call your accom when you get off the train ( 20 mins taxi ride .. 30 yuan ) and they will meet you at the gate with a trolley to carry your bags. The stone streets are brutal to drag a suitcase across! Photo central. It is many centuries old and is presented beautifully. They celebrate the waterways with flowers and landscaping that is fabulous Take a good camera. Day trips to Shangrila (high speed train) and Tiger leaping gorge (bus) are a must and the scenery is breathtaking. Not a bad thing to say about Lijiang. So many choices of food, shopping, drink and entertainment. The dancing ladies at square street every night is a must see - and join in ! Have an iPhone 10 or better to download the few apps you will need to get by just fine as a solo traveller who can say hello and thank you in Chinese and nothing else. At Yulong Mountain, there are many attractions, and most of them are free of charge after you have paid the entrance fee before entering the mountain. This fee is inclusive of a tour bus that takes you to all of these sites. I was there during the Golden week. Lijiang is a nice town with a very beautiful ancient town. Almost all the shops in the ancient town open till very late at night and the public toilets in there are (surprisingly) very clean though abit dimly lit. You can see alot of people walking around in the traditional costumes walking around taking pictures. There are much to see and do in Lijiang.NELLYMalaysia - Scored 1010

Lijiang old town is pretty incredible. Regardless of the tacky tourist shops which sell the same stuff...The architecture, laneways, stonework, FLOWERS! plants, rivers, streams and bridges make the experience. We found great authentic, real, inexpensive places to eat in. It is NOT easy to get around on the first day, but the second and third days you get a feel for the layout. But be prepared to get lost! Make sure you have a Chinese version of maps on your phone... We had no plans except to wander, we went up to the viewing platform. We checked out "bar street" but preferred to eat in the smaller alleyway joints. You could take a thousand photos here. Early morning is great for photos with no one around and before the shops open, the wooden doors are still on the shop fronts... There is a real market selling fruit veggies fish meat etc. People do still live in old town thank goodness so you do get a real life feeling. We stayed for 2 nights and we thought that was enough. Lijiang ancient city that we haven’t explored completely. Will return. Black Dragon Park with its ancient water wheels. Very surprised to find McDonalds and KFC in the park. We finally got our cups of hard to find coffee in Lijiang. What a real treat! Several stores displayed beautiful decorative dresses of different ethnicities but not for sale as they were only rented out for photo shoots. Unfortunately couldn’t purchase one for my wife. Friendly people and exceptionally fantastic ancient places to visit. Goodbye Lijiang, etc. until we meet again soon!kiat sUnited States of America - Scored 1010

It is the place I always wanted to revisit. Plenty of activities like pubs and spaces for us to relax. Is vibrant, also cars and bikes free. Hope to get more and better signings/directions for the less direction oriented peopleAAnonymous

I went to the wrong place, it's a bit far from the inn. I sent a WeChat message to the boss, who braved the rain and rode a tricycle to pick me up. His sincerity moved me! Later I found out his name was Jinmei Xiaopang. Jinmei Inn satisfies me: exquisite, refreshing, and beautiful. I would recommend it to my French friends.
