The frontline staff went out of their way to ensure we had a comfortable stay. They are beyond excellent, so chivalrous, so kind. They are the reason we experienced the pristine, beautiful culture of the Netherlands, since they were always so warm and welcome! The location was excellent, it was better than the pictures. You can truly enjoy renting a bike and cycling around the entire village and explore expansive trails!

Offering a garden and garden view, Chalet westerham is situated in Winsum, 17 km from Martini Tower and 1.3 km from Winsum Station. The chalet is on a farm, the views all around are amazing - there is unobstructed view towards the fields on one side and the beautiful horses on the other. There is a fireplace in, which warms it up super quickly and adds an unbeatable cozy feel. The chalet is small but you have everything you can possibly need for a few days stay. And the hosts are lovely so I am sure they would accommodate any other reasonable requests. What I loved the most was the company of animals: the horses, the dog, chicks, sheep. There were also a couple of cats who, alas, never came close to me as they were way too busy having fun in the fields, so I just enjoyed watching them from afar. Winsum is beautiful too: the canals, the churches, the houses. No wonder it is rated the most beautiful village in the country. The location is great for a starting point to explore the area: Pieterburen, Groningen, Lauwersoog, the Wadden Islands are very close and so worth visiting.

Spacey enough for two adults and two small children (4 & 6 years)Very quiet. The house is as expected quite basic but has everything you need. It had in fact more utensils in the kitchen as most of the places we stayed before. As a matter of fact it also has a TV set which is absolutely not necessary.
