The hospitality was absolutely amazing, from activity recommendations to the little extras, we felt very welcome by everyone. We mixed eating out with cooking dinner in the room, enjoying sunsets on the deck. At night, the sky deck and outdoor bath also made for a perfect end to the evenings--talking, talking, talking while looking out at the ocean and the Milky Way.

At Cottage Morinokokage, guests can rent out a cottage with a hammock. Free WiFi is available in the guest rooms. The owner was very friendly and gave us cookies as a gift when we left.

Don't be put off by the relatively low numbers of comments on Booking, this place is definitely a gem, especially if you are looking for an authentic stay in the Japanese mountains of Kyushu. We loved our stay and Yui was an incredible host. We would love to come back again!

Providing a garden, 星空に包まれる 森の隠れ家 Amrita Lodge ~stay & retreat~ is situated in the Kirishima-jingu Onsen district of Kirishima, 12 km from Ebino Plateau. The house was very comfortable and well equipped. Ideal location for exploring the Kirishima Mountains. Lovely host.
