Yakushima Cottage Morino Fairy offers all-wooden private cottages with a balcony, a kitchenette, sea or river views. The property has a garden, free Wi-Fi and free parking. The hospitality was absolutely amazing, from activity recommendations to the little extras, we felt very welcome by everyone. We mixed eating out with cooking dinner in the room, enjoying sunsets on the deck. At night, the sky deck and outdoor bath also made for a perfect end to the evenings--talking, talking, talking while looking out at the ocean and the Milky Way.

Don't be put off by the relatively low numbers of comments on Booking, this place is definitely a gem, especially if you are looking for an authentic stay in the Japanese mountains of Kyushu. We loved our stay and Yui was an incredible host. We would love to come back again!
