We were able to self-check in/out. The chalet had everything we needed and the kitchen was very well equipped. The pool area was great for lounging but sitting on our little patio was lovely too. Everything was conveniently located and it was a short drive into town where you could get shuttles to several tours. It also had several excellent cafes within a close walk. Cristina is the nicest most generous host we've ever met. There was a wonderful welcome package waiting for us with the local fresh bread, cheese, cookies fruit and wine. In the bath room there were little tooth brushes and paste. If possible ask for the 1st row cabins. Great restaurant- engenho velho hotel .MichaFamily with young children
