J&D Cottage, a property with a garden, is situated in Kerikeri, 26 km from Opua Forest, 4.5 km from Kemp House and Stone Store, as well as 21 km from Haruru Falls. Boasting bicycle parking, this property also provides guests with a picnic area. There is a sun terrace and guests can make use of free WiFi and free private parking. We didn't have breakfast during our stay but next time will definitely take the opportunity. We were able to get a courteousy van from Homestead to pick us up and drop us off so we could enjoy a couple of beers. Lovely stay there and so thankful for the return of my phone. It would take me a whole day to list everything I liked about my stay but I’ll name the key players. Firstly, the hosts Peter and Sara were such welcoming and friendly people. As soon as I arrived they invited me to have dinner with them, and we finished off a lovely night in with a game of Rummikub. Secondly, the location is just stunning. Peter took me to see the dairy farm next door and even let me have a go milking the cows (not by hand haha), and after he took me on a hike up the local mountain which had a 360 degree view of the landscapes. Also an honourable mention goes to the tens of animals I met while staying there - my fave were Sara’s horses. It was the best way I could’ve kicked off my NZ trip. Thanks so much Peter and Sara for having me! I would recommend this place 100 times over.
