Timmerstuga, hotel in Malelane

Situated in Malelane in the Mpumalanga region, Timmerstuga has a patio. It is set 13 km from Leopard Creek Country Club and features private check-in and check-out.

The facilities and utilities were excellent. Our only recommendation is that the fridge be replaced as the current one took strain in getting really cold in the sweltering heat which reached 40 degrees during the day.

Simbini Sunset Cottage, hotel in Malelane

Situated in Malelane, Simbini Sunset Cottage features accommodation with private pool, free WiFi and free private parking for guests who drive.

The location is gorgeous and the hosts were so lovely. There is a lot of game wandering past with some resident hippo's and crocs, which was great. The beds are super comfy and the decor is modern and comfortable. There are big windows which makes the property light and the game viewing easy. There are a lot of lovely thoughtful touches, like chocolates on the bed at check in, which we appreciated.

This place is horrible. Old smelly furnitute. The bed is uncomfortable. Curtains ugly and unmatched. Worn out sofas. The place is horrible. I dnt recommend anybody to go stay in that house. I could mpt even sleep in that linen.

Beautifully decorated accommodation in the most beautiful setting. One could not ask for a better way to treat yourself. Staff is friendly, helpful and professional. Room size and privacy is awesome and the room offers more than needed. The food was delicious and the way it was served right in front of our room was extra special, not to mention how lovely the table was set. We enjoyed watching the elephants and hippos right in front of Kambaku River Lodge.

We traveled as a large group of family. We all loved everything about River Cottage Lodge, the rooms were clean, the location was perfect and amazing view to a river where you sit by and watch the sunset. Greg was a great host, always available and a good communicator from the time we booked to the time we were checking in. I have nothing to fault the lodge, I would definitely book there again

It’s a beautiful lodge giving up the country house vibe with a very unique charm. You could spend hours discovering the collections of unique items displayed throughout the house. Located directly on the crocodile river and opposite the Kruger National Parc you may spot different animals from the viewing deck. The staff is very kind and helpful. I would recommend spending a few nights and enjoying the amazing food.

One of the best equipped and prepared self catering units we have ever stayed in. We usually only consider booking where an establishment is rated 8 or higher. We could not fault Timmerstuga. All the complimentary extras like a bottle of wine, filtered water, chocolate, variety of spices etc were a joy to behold.

The accommodation looks even better live! It’s a lovely cottage with space to hang out. You even have your own terrace. Furthermore the equipment is very good including all the kitchen dishes, coffee machine etc. We unfortunately only stayed there for one night. Mara is a kind host and only wants the best for her guests! Since she has solar energy you even have light and Wi-Fi during load shedding - a big plus!

The setting is idyllic and the attention of the staff was exceptional. Say that again! The staff went way beyond the extra mile. As value for money goes, our stay was superb. This isn't a high end lodge but its setting more than qualifies it as a superb venue and an ideal place to stay before entering the Kruger Park after a long journey. Oh, and the meal was great! And they are dealing with loadshedding by going off the grid.

A wonderful hideaway! Exceptional hospitality from staff, who were very welcoming and accommodating even when we arrived late and after dark. Cottages are spacious ,comfortable and cosy with all amenities (tea, coffee, extra blankets, etc) provided. Generator for during load shedding just to make everything even easier. A beautiful retreat in a magical and lush setting.
