Innovative Bilder in thebanischen Beamtengräbern der 18. Dynastie. Mit Beginn des Neuen Reiches vor etwa 3500 Jahren wurde Theben Hauptkultort Ägyptens. Die Pharaonen fanden Ihre letzte Ruhestätte in einem Tal des Westgebirges. In unmittelbarer Nähe befinden sich am Gebirgsabhang, der das Nilfruchtland begrenzt, die Grabanlagen der verdienstvollen hohen Beamten und Priester. Die begehbaren Kulträume sind reich mit kunstvollen Reliefs oder Malereien ausdekoriert und mit Totentexten versehen. In keiner anderen Epoche der ägyptischen Grabkunst gewährte der Grabinhaber einen so umfassenden Einblick in sein berufliches und privates Leben, wie in der 18. Dynastie. Eines seiner wichtigsten Anliegen war es, sein Verhältnis zum König ins rechte Licht zu setzen, indem er seine herausragenden Leistungen schilderte. Neue Aufgaben – neue Bilder Gerade die 18. Dynastie mit ihrer wechselvollen politischen Geschichte verlangte nach neuen Positionen und Ämtern, ob als Militärangehöriger mit den damit verbundenen Aufgaben wie das Eintreiben der Tribute der unterworfenen Länder, oder als Amtsinhaber in der königlichen Verwaltung mit zum Beispiel der Aufsicht der Arbeiten im Schatzhaus. In der ersten Hälfte der 18. Dynastie, besonders zur Zeit des Kriegsherrn Thutmosis III., dominierte der Dienst am König die Ikonographie der Grabdekoration. In der zweiten Hälfte der 18. Dynastie ändert sich das Bild. Nicht zuletzt eröffnete die Begegnung mit Fremdvölkern, das Erlebnis des Fremden, einen neuen Blick auf die Welt. Überhaupt standen in der Folgezeit ganz persönliche Anliegen, umgesetzt in originellen Bildern, im Vordergrund. Das Nichtkonforme wurde dann gegen Ende der 18. Dynastie zum Leitfaden nicht nur der Szeneninhalte, sondern besonders der künstlerischen Ausschmückung.

Latours politische (Meta-)Philosophie und der Machtbegriff2019 •
In der politischen Theorie und der Theorie des Sozialen wird klassischerweise auf den Machtbegriff zurückgegriffen, wenn es darum geht, die Verbindungen und das Dazwischen der Elemente des Sozialen und des Politischenzu denken, deren Konstitution und Individuation, aber auch die Ordnung ihrer Dis‐kurse begrifflich zu erfassen. Gleichwohl ist der Machtbegriff nicht nur ein zentra‐ler Begriff in der empirischen Untersuchung und in der politischen Theorie selbst, er ist auch ein folgenschwerer Begriff sowohl auf der Ebene der Pragmatik einer Theorie als auch auf der Ebene der Theoriebildung. Denn zum einen impliziert die Kon‐zeption von Macht eine Politik qua Begriff: „[H]ow we think of power may serve toreproduce and reinforce power structures and relations, or alternatively it may chal‐lenge and subvert them.“ Zum anderen „ist der Streit um den Machtbegriff auch einStreit um die Form der politischen Theorie oder Philosophie selbst.“ Angesichts dieser außergewöhnlichen politischen und formalen Relevanz stellt sich die Frage,wie der ‚gegenrevolutionäre‘ Theoretiker Latour, der sich für eine radikal alternativeGrundlegung der Sozialwissenschaften und der Theorie des Sozialen einsetzt, mit dem Machtbegriff umgeht. Wie adressiert Latour den Machtbegriff? In welchen theoretischen Kontexten seines politisch-philosophischen Gesamtprojekts taucht die Thematisierung des Machtbegriffs auf und wie ‚funktioniert‘ der Machtbegriff beiLatour im Gesamtprojekt? Entsagt sich Latour, wie der eingangs zitierte Imperativ nahelegen könnte, tatsächlich des Machtbegriffs? Oder enthält die Akteur-Netzwerk-Theorie (ANT) in der latourschen Fassung eine eigene Konzeptualisierung von so‐zialer und politischer Macht? ‚Schlägt‘ der Machtbegriff in der latourschen ANT ‚zurück‘?

Mose als wahrhafter Politiker? Eine narratologische Untersuchung der Wahrhaftigkeit in der Exodusgeschichte2018 •
Mose gehört wohl zu den schillerndsten Persönlichkeiten der Bibel. Diesem vielseitigen Bild ist es aber auch zu verdanken, dass Mose in der Forschung ganz unterschiedlich zu erfassen versucht wurde. Er wurde namentlich als Prophet, Wundermann, Religionsstifter, Schreiber, Gesetzgeber oder Lehrer charakterisiert. Die biblischen Schreiber scheinen ihn ebenfalls als charismatischen Anführer, wenn nicht sogar als Politiker gezeichnet zu haben. Eckart Otto vermutet, dass dies als Protest im Kontrast zu den Königen Assyriens geschah. Eine Kritik am eigenen Königtum, konkret am judäischen, wird ebenso diskutiert. Die Figur des Moses repräsentiert jedoch eher ein Ideal, welches im Hintergrund der konkreten Kritik zu schweben scheint und die Vorzeit Israels glorifizieren soll. Das ihm von den biblischen Autoren zugelegte politische Konzept stellt einen deutlichen Kontrast zur Monarchie dar, auch wenn zu dieser keine direkten Vergleiche gezogen werden. So organisiert Mose beispielhaft das Rechtswesen neu, indem er Richter einsetzt (Ex 18). Ausserdem vertritt er das Volk sowohl gegenüber Gott als auch gegenüber der Umwelt Israels; umgekehrt vermittelt er Gottes Anliegen an Israel. Diese Aufgabenbereiche lassen ihn nicht nur als charismatischen Anführer erscheinen, sondern vielmehr als Volksvertreter oder, moderner ausgedrückt, als Politiker. Der Versuch, Mose als Politiker zu erfassen, und die Feststellung, dass er vermutlich als Ideal der Vorzeit für die eigenen Könige herangezogen worden ist, lässt die Exodusgeschichte für das Thema dieser Ausgabe der Hermeneutischen Blätter interessant werden. Politik und Wahrheit werden stets, so Hannah Arendt, als spannungsreich gedacht. Überträgt man diese Spannung auf das Wirken des Moses, so stellt sich die Frage: Wie hält es der Politiker Mose mit der Wahrheit? Gilt diese Spannung ebenfalls für sein politisches Wirken? Oder nimmt er eine Vorbildfunktion ein, die noch über die positiv bewerteten Könige hinausgeht? Ist Mose als Politiker wahrhaftig in seinem Reden und Handeln? Kann Politik und Wahrheit dementsprechend doch anders als spannungsreich gedacht werden?

Nachdem sich nun herausgestellt hat, dass der Realismus im Kontext der Sprache eine Form der Internalisierung erfahrt, die der realistischen Programmatik als solcher die Grundlage entzieht, stellt sich die Frage, welche Option dann noch verbleibt. Was den logischen Empirismus anbelangt, scheint das Potenzial bezuglich einer Integration des realistischen Programms nach allem, was bisher gesagt worden ist, de facto aufgebraucht zu sein. Doch dieser Eindruck ist verfehlt. Denn es gibt – neben der Schein- und der Sprachproblem-Perspektive – noch eine dritte logisch-empiristische Sicht auf den Realismus.
