The Socio-Economic Trajectories and the Performance of Women Entrepreneurship in India2023 •
It is stated that no nation can advance without considering half its population, i.e. women. Women's empowerment is currently a focal point in emerging and underdeveloped nations. It can only be realised if all facets of women's empowerment, including women's entrepreneurship, are considered. In India, if a woman's mere possession of a bank account constituted a great accomplishment in India. However, there are already over 15.7 million enterprises owned by women, with women leading the startup ecosystem. This dramatic development demonstrates the potential and determination of Indian women. In the following decades, India will experience a significant transformation, with women dominating the workforce and moulding and strengthening the country's destiny. By 2030, it is anticipated that over 30 million more womenowned enterprises will generate 150-170 million jobs, which might be a game-changer and significantly improve the economic picture. Although the government has created several financial assistance programmes for women, they must be publicised through various channels so that an increasing number of women are aware of them and take advantage of them. In addition, it appears difficult for women to navigate the formalities and procedures required to obtain financial aid from banks and other financial organisations. Therefore, the procedures must be simplified, particularly for women. Women who wish to be in business but lack the requisite knowledge, skills, and management to establish a business must be encouraged to participate in entrepreneurship development programmes, which must be pushed and carried out promptly. Typically, obtaining raw materials and a market for their firm presents difficulties for female entrepreneurs. The government should devise ways to ensure that these women have easy access to raw materials and aid them in selling their products and services. In this paper, we discussed how the Socioeconomic trajectories influence the performance of women entrepreneurship in India. It is also deliberated as to how the female entrepreneurs have been playing an increasingly vital role in promoting the growth and development of India's economy, as well as directly providing employment and economic independence and enhancing their social, educational, and health standing. The work is descriptive and employs secondary sources.

When women moves forward, the family moves the village moves and the nation moves.-Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru ABSTRACT ______________________________________________________________________ Entrepreneurship that is the human intellect in action is such a highly valued characteristic of humankind that in the absence of it nothing new could have happened. Women entrepreneurship is gaining importance in India in the wake of economic liberalization and globalization. In Comparison to other countries, the development of women entrepreneurship is very low in India, especially in rural areas. However, middle class women are not too eager to alter their role due to fear of social backlash. The progress is more visible among upper class families in urban areas. The potential flexibility in time use from entrepreneurship can also facilitate balancing work and family obligations for women. However, entrepreneurs, both male and female, are relatively scarce in India compared to peer countries, and tend to work in small units often outside the formal sector. Women and Development - A Case for Development of Women Entrepreneurship? With Special Reference to Indian Women1998 •
Economic independence is a pre-requisite for women's movement towards gender equality. It is high time that the planners realise that women are contributories in the development process and not mere beneficiaries- they do not need welfare schemes but income generation opportunities. Regardless of social taboos more and more women are being pushed towards paid employment because of economic hardships. Development of women entrepreneurship will serve the dual purpose of empowering women and speeding up the process of economic development. For governments and planners are increasingly realising that economic growth cannot be manufactured by fine tuning, tax and regulatory policies alone, for the existence of a basketball and a court does not guarantee the game and the players. An effort to assess the role of women entrepreneurship, in emancipation of women and in the ...
