Science and technology have been long-standing dimensions of the political legitimation of monarchic, shaikhly and imperial rule in the modern Gulf. Scientific development has been supported by attendant sociotechnical imaginaries, but these imaginaries have not been without fissures or contradictions. In the modern Gulf sheikhdoms, sociotechnical imaginaries were fashioned at the intersection of local, regional, and imperial processes. Arange of actors participated in these contestations, drawing on shifting cultural ideas about human frailty and progress. continuing social and economic exchanges across the Arabian Peninsula and the Indian Ocean. and varvig experiences of imperial constrat and vossibitv. This article examines how Islamic legalactors in Oatar shaped sociotechnical contestations in the course of the twentieth century. Focusing on medical technology and the problem of drunk driving in the 1960s, I show how Islamic procedural law became connected to new regimes ofexpertise and modern forms of power inextricably tied to the Qatari nation-state. I suggest that the Islamic legal concepts mobilized by the 'ulama, which initially served to protect a space of Muslim privacy against technological anonymity and the regulatory ambitions of the modern state, became increasingly unintelligible as the expansive logics of state bureaucracy were adopted and naturalized.

Drive shaft or propeller shaft is the essential part of Automobiles. It is used to deliver torque from transmission to the differential and further to the wheel to cause the motion of the vehicle. The drive shaft is used to connect with the transmission shaft with the help of universal joint whose axis intersects and the rotation of one shaft about its own axis results in the rotation of the other shaft about its axis. In present work the model of the drive shaft has been generated in Solid works and further imported in ANSYS workbench. A finite element analysis of the drive shaft has been carried out as a case study. In the present work the static analysis of a drive shaft has been carried out with the new design changes. The results for equivalent von-Mises stress, strain and deformation have been calculated by applying boundary conditions and compared with the existing results.

Structural-functionalist anthropology describes judgments of approval and disapproval of conduct as 'diffuse sanctions' (Radcliffe-Brown, 1952). Their function is to maintain order. However, what is the mechanism of conduct modification? What are the possible reactions beyond the simple mechanical effect of conforming? To answer this, I aim to examine the elementary operations of everyday life to affect a person's state through moral sentiment: reproaches (inspiring shame and remorse) and compliments (inspiring pride and confidence). I will start with my fieldwork which exacerbates the attention to diffuse sanctions for two reasons: the first is classical and methodological; it is about becoming a group member. The second is theoretical; when the group studied produces ways of saying mental health, it is not only a question of analyzing the transformations of moral judgments of everyday life into clinical judgments, but also the techniques for modifying the affected conduct.

Advanced oxidation processes holds a promising future for the treatment of wastewater containing organic compounds that are not easily removable. All AOPs are designed to produce hydroxyl radicals. It is the hydroxyl radical that reacts to disintegrate organic compounds. AOP combine ozone, UV, hydrogen peroxide and/or catalyst to offer effective wastewater treatment solution for the reduction and/or removal of residual organic compounds that are measured by COD, BOD or TOC. This paper presents basic review of efficient AOPs developed to decolorize and/or degrade organic pollutants for environmental protection. Fundamentals of typical methods such as fenton, electro-fenton and photo-fenton, are discussed.
Patriarch Photios, the first one to systematise the Eastern arguments against the Filioque addition, had perceived it as a toned down echo of Pneumatomachism, Sabelian Modalism and Plotinian emanationism and as an innovation which introduced the diarchy within the Holy Trinity. The Tomos of the Constantinople Council of 1285 is extremely significant; drafted by the Ecumenical Patriarch Gregory II, it is the single synodal document of the Orthodox Church which makes a direct, detailed and soundly argued reference to the Filioque, as a teaching in its own right, and vigorously condemns it. Its polemic features aside, the trinitarian theology of the 1285 Tomos has an authentic ecumenical perspective, as it offers the only positive solution to the Filioque controversy: while the Filioque is inacceptable with respect to the divine being, it may be valid with regard to the divine uncreated energies, the eternal manifestation of the divine nature in the Holy Spirit, through and from the Son. Saint Gregory Palamas provided solid biblical, patristic and logical arguments against the Filioque in his two Apodictic Treatises on the Procession of the Holy Spirit of 1333-1334, where he identified within the Latin theology a logic of separation which determines the exegetic de-contextualization, the philological thoroughness, the semantic reduction exclusively compliant to the text’s analysis and internal logic (on a hermeneutic level), and the autonomous rational construction (on a theological level). Consequently, the separation between Orthodox and Filioquist triadology resides in the very theological method. In the latter, dialectic thinking and essentialism prevail, whereas in the former, what takes precedence is the trinitarian understanding of the Holy Spirit, equally apodictic and apophatic, personalistic and ontological: it is the dogmatic of the holistic ‘ecclesial experience’ (spiritual, contemplative and rational) versus the dogmatic of speculative reasoning. To conclude, the Orthodox Church believes that the Filioque has been and still is a trinitarian heresy condemned by the pan-Orthodox councils of 879-880, 1285, 1484, 1583, 1838, as well as by the Holy Fathers of the Church, especially Photios the Great, Gregory II of Cyprus and Gregory Palamas.
