2013, Δημόσιο και ιδιωτικό Νηπιαγωγείο υπό την οπτική των εκπαιδευτικών στην Ελλάδα: η περίπτωση της Κρήτης (Public & private kindergarten under the perspective of teachers in Greece: the case of Crete)

Περίληψη Η μελέτη της δημόσιας και ιδιωτικής εκπαίδευσης στην Ελλάδα δεν έχει συγκεντρώσει το ενδιαφέρον των ερευνητών στο βαθμό που θα έπρεπε. Στην εργασία αυτή διερευνώνται οι απόψεις εκπαιδευτικών της Κρήτης σχετικά με: α) με τις διαφορές μεταξύ δημόσιου και ιδιωτικού νηπιαγωγείου, β) τους λόγους που ωθούν τους γονείς να εγγράφουν τα παιδιά τους σε ιδιωτικά νηπιαγωγεία, γ) με το κοινωνικό κύρος που έχουν οι δύο αυτοί τύποι νηπιαγωγείων. Τα αποτελέσματα της μελέτης αυτής έδειξαν ότι οι Έλληνες εκπαιδευτικοί θεωρούν ότι τα ιδιωτικά νηπιαγωγεία υπερέχουν των δημόσιων όσον αφορά τις παροχές σε μετακίνηση, εστίαση και σε υλικοτεχνική υποδομή. Οι παροχές αυτές αποτελούν και τους λόγους προτίμησής τους από τους γονείς. Θεωρούν όμως ότι τα ιδιωτικά νηπιαγωγεία δεν έχουν μεγαλύτερο κύρος από τα δημόσια. Abstract The study about public and private education in Greece has not collected the interest of researchers to the extent that it should.The present study examined Greek teachers’ beliefs on: α) the differences be-tween public and private kindergarten, b) the reasons which motivate parents to enroll their children in private kindergartens, c) the social status which have both these types of kindergartens. The findings of the study showed that Greek teachers consider that the main difference between these types of kinder-gartens are the better facilities that private kindergartens offer (transport by school bus, food at school, better and more equipped buildings). These facilities are the reasons of preference of the parents. On the other hand teachers consider that in social status between public and private kindergartens. The teachers’ beliefs did not vary according to their educational or social background.
