Bricks are one of the most important items of construction activities. India is the second largest brick producer in the world. It is continuously expanding on account of a rapid increase in demand for bricks in infrastructure and housing project. In order to meet this demand, over 150,000 brick units provide direct employment to more than 8 million workers. The annual turnover of the industry is Rs. 8000 crore (Approx). With the restriction in use of clay in manufacturing of bricks, fly ash brick is best substitute for it. Growing awareness among the prospective and potential building & consistent efforts by Govt. fly ash brick is incorporate in the schedule of various construction agencies. With the change of demand of the society, fly ash bricks are gradually increasing day by day not only in the metropolitan cities but also in urban & rural sector. All construction works are dependent on bricks. This research paper presents a comparison of fly ash bricks and clay bricks. Data is collected through questionnaires and personal interviews targeting Consultants, Engineers, and Traders. SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) is adopted to evaluate the responses collected from the respondent by Independent Samples T-test.

ABSTRAK Manado sebagai kota wisata dan kota jasa perdagangan, memerlukan fasilitas pedestrian yang nyaman agar menyenangkan bagi wisatawan maupun warganya. Fakta menunjukkan bahwa di bagian pusat kota Manado, pedestrian nampak belum nyaman dipakai oleh para pejalan kaki karena beberapa hal. Diantaranya adalah penggunaan material pelapis pedestrian yang kurang tepat seperti kondisinya yang terlalu licin, mudah rusak, tampilannya kurang menarik serta penyelesaian konstruksi yang beresiko mengganggu kelancaran gerak pengguna, atau mengganggu kenyamanan bagi pejalan kaki. Tulisan ini fokus pada hasil penelitian mengenai dua hal, pertama adalah pengungkapan kondisi fisik jalur pedestrian ditinjau terhadap resiko gangguan kenyamanan gerak bagi pejalan kaki, pada " siang hari ". Kedua untuk mendapatkan respon dari pengguna tentang " tingkat kepuasan " dari pejalan kaki terhadap kualitas material pelapis pedestrian. Lokasi kajian meliputi bagian pusat kota dan juga merupakan area wisata belanja. Metode yang di gunakan adalah campuran cara kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Temuan studi ini meliputi dua hal, yakni pengungkapan adanya 4 skala tingkat kepuasan pejalan kaki, dan pengungkapan bahwa di area studi, respon pengguna menunjukkan skala antara " kurang puas/kurang nyaman " dan " agak puas/ agak nyaman ". Hanya sedikit yang merasa puas dan juga sangat sedikit yang menyatakan tidak puas. Diharapkan bahwa hasil penelitian ini dapat memberikan kontribusi pengembangan teori bagi perancangan pedestrian dan masukan bagi pembangunan arsitektur kota Manado.

Green purchasing (GP) has elicited increasing attention in recent years by both academics and practitioners. However, its industrial issues in developing countries have not been investigated at a regional level. This paper aims to compare practices of GP in connection with a widely applied compliance of RoHS among five countries of Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam. We sought to determine where the differences occur and which practices are further along. An investigation of 106 manufacturing SMEs in E&E sector shows that a partial difference in the extent of implementation of on RoHS-related GP practices, including documentation, supplier management, and internal management, among these five countries. The implication of this paper indicates that RoHS-related GP enables SMEs to green their purchasing activities by establishing win-win relationships with suppliers, and thus realise sustainable development for the whole supply chains. As a managerial implication, the present study shows that an appropriate monitoring approach involving suppliers in green initiatives can help GP diffusion and greener environment across Southeast Asia.

This dissertation aims at conducting a quantitative research to significantly reduce food wastage at retails stores using business intelligence techniques, thus supporting demand forecasting decisions for precised inventory management and increasing overall business profitability. Perishable and deli food items have short freshness-life and this is why the volume of food wastage is higher in this particular segment of supply chain system. Most of the retail store managers are struggling to predict a relatively precised demand and supply of such products to control food wastage at the minimum levels. The forecasting and decision-making is mostly done using sales reports which is not a completely reliable data-source for decision-ing. It is also observed that an educated guessing by store managers is another common practice for inaccurate demand forecasting that causes stock in-availability, over-storage and sizable wastage of food items among fruits, vegetables, cereals, bakery, dairy and meat products etc. These issues are empirically analysed in this research dissertation using BI concepts and methods.

Abstrak Hasil survey yang dilakukan oleh Otoritas Jasa Keuangan (OJK) pertumbuhan kredit pada bulan januari tahun 2019 mencapai 11,97% year of the year (yoy). Pertumbuhan kredit dibulan Januari 2019 secara presentase membaik dibandingkan periode januari 2018 dan 2017 yang kala itu baru tumbuh masing-masing sebesar 7,4% yoy dan 8,28% yoy [1]. Kredit tidak lancar merupakan salah satu faktor penyebab terjadinya kebangkrutan pada industri peminjaman. Dalam dunia peminjaman, diperlukan analisis yang mampu mengurangi terjadinya resiko kredit tidak lancar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis faktor faktor yang menyebabkan terjadinya kredit tidak lancar berdasarkan data histori. Metode statistik yang digunakan adalah Regresi logistik Biner. Tahapan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah membagi data menjadi dua bagian yaitu data training dan data testing. Data traininga kan digunakan untuk pembentukan model, sedangkan data testing digunakan untuk menguji seberapa besar ketepatan model yang dibentuk. Hasil dengan menggunakan metode regresi logistik biner pada pola data pertama terlihat persentase yang Benar dari kasus yang dipilih adalah 82,0% dan sebanyak 67 nasabah tidak layak diberi pinjaman. Lalu pada presentase yang salah dari kasus yang dipilih adalah 81,5% dan sebanyak 133 nasabah tidak layak diberi pinjaman pada pola data 500 (testing) & 200 (training) dan lalu pada pola data kedua didapatkan persentase yang Benar dari kasus yang dipilih adalah 82,2% dan sebanyak 83 nasabah tidak layak diberi pinjaman. layak untuk diberi pinjaman pada data untuk data dengan 600 (testing) & 100 (training). Hasil survey yang dilakukan oleh Otoritas Jasa Keuangan (OJK) pertumbuhan kredit pada bulan januari tahun 2019 mencapai 11,97% year of the year (yoy). Pertumbuhan kredit dibulan Januari 2019 secara presentase membaik dibandingkan periode januari 2018 dan 2017 yang kala itu baru tumbuh masing-masing sebesar 7,4% yoy dan 8,28% yoy. Adanya optimisme pertumbuhan kredit tersebut karena didorong meningkatnya pertumbuhan industri khususnya disektor infrastruktur dan tambang [1]. Kredit merupakan suatu fasilitas keuangan yang memungkinkan seorang atau badan usaha untuk meminjam uang dan membayarnya kembali dalam jangka waktu yang ditentukan. Sedangkan menurut UU No. 10 tahun 1998, kredit adalah penyedian uang atau tagihan yang dapat dipersamakan dengan itu berdasarkan persetujuan atau kesepakatan pinjam meminjam antara bank dan pihak lain yang mewajibkan pihak peminjam melunasi hutangnya setelah waktu tertentu dengan pemberian bunga. Tingginya permintaan kredit tak lantas membuat pihak pemberi jasa layanan kredit akan dapat mengabulkan semua permohonan yang ada. Untuk itu, perlu dilakukan suatu proses penyeleksian dalam rangka melihat calon debitur mana yang layak diberi pinjaman. Proses tersebut merupakan proses penilaian atau scoring menggunakan data historis calon peminjam untuk kemudian diklasifikasikan apakah layak diberi pinjaman atau tidak. Calon debitur yang lolos seleksi disebut good debitur, dan permohonan kreditnya dikabulkan, sebaliknya calon debitur yang tidak lolos seleksi disebut bad debitur, dan permohonan kreditnya akan ditolak. It is a well-known fact that advertisement plays a major role in increasing the sales of any product introduced in the market. Particularly advertisement that uses the image of a celebrity has huge impact. But as the trends change, the current trend is to use the celebrities from the field of sports. Using sports celebrities in the advertisements in order to reach wider audience has become a trend in the Indian context and moreover huge amount of money is being spent for this purpose. That is the reason why the present research has focused on this particular area. The major focus of the present research is to identify the impact of sports celebrity advertisements on the purchase intention of the consumers. It has included both high involvement product as well as low involvement product. Mixtures of 450 U.G. students and faculties from 10 colleges which are affiliated to Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli have been selected for analysis. The respondents were chosen using convenience sampling method. the present research has suggested that in the case of Low Involvement Product sports celebrity advertisements can be used to increase the purchase intention of the consumers. But in the case of High Involvement Product, sports celebrity advertisements can be used only while introducing new products and for popularising it.

Effective employee orientation has also been said to be a precursor to good performance. The main objective of the study therefore was to find out how the effectiveness of employee Orientation affects  satisfaction. The results indicated that the organization needs quality orientation programmes for its employees for better satisfaction.

the advances in Artificial Intelligence and robotic technology are poised to be one of the most disruptive technologies in the coming decade. Teachers and students can access the technology at different entry points, depending on their skills and experience. NAO is humanoid robots, which used successfully to help to teach children. NAO is an ideal platform for teaching kids Math, Science and any other concepts. NAO can be incorporated into almost any type of lesson to provide novelty and engagement. The aim of this paper is to measure the satisfaction percent of using Robots in teaching kids. More than 297 participants participated in the questionnaire. 71% of the participants strongly agreed or agree to the use of artificial robots in education will increase the learning rate. 87% of participants were believed that the use of modern methods of education based on artificial intelligence applications would have a positive impact on learning. 50% of participants supported the idea of the advantages of using the artificial robot in education were higher than it disadvantages. 69% of the participants strongly agreed or agree that the use of robots has become an urgent necessity in education because it can provide advanced means of clarification and learning methods.

Monte Carlo (MC) simulation includes a wide range of stochastic techniques used to quantitatively evaluate the behavior of complex systems or processes. Microsoft Excel spreadsheets with Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) software is, arguably, the most commonly employed general purpose tool for MC simulation. Despite the popularity of the Excel in many industries and educational institutions, it has been repeatedly criticized for its flaws and often described as questionable, if not completely unsuitable, for statistical problems. The purpose of this study is to assess suitability of the Excel (specifically its 2010 and 2013 versions) with VBA programming as a tool for MC simulation. The results of the study indicate that Microsoft Excel (versions 2010 and 2013) is a strong Monte Carlo simulation application offering a solid framework of core simulation components including spreadsheets for data input and output, VBA development environment and summary statistics functions. This framework should be complemented with an external high-quality pseudo-random number generator added as a VBA module. A large and diverse category of Excel’s incidental simulation components that includes statistical distributions, linear and non-linear regression and other statistical, engineering and business functions require execution of due diligence to determine their suitability for a specific MC project.

ABSTRAK Salah satu metode Analisa Data Kategori yang digunakan untuk mengetahui pengaruh hubungan dengan variabel respon yang bertipe nominal adalah menggunakan Binary Logistic Regression (BLR). BLR digunakan untuk data yang variabel responnya merupakan data yang terdiri dari dua kategori, dengan satu variabel prediktor atau lebih, baik yang bersifat kategorik maupun kontinu. Dalam menentukan derajad tenaga kerja di Indonesia, salah satu indikator yang dapat digunakan adalah status bekerja. Status bekerja didefinisikan menjadi dua, yaitu status masih bekerja dan status tidak bekerja. Variabel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah status bekerja (Y) sebagai variabel respon dengan kategori 1 adalah masih bekerja, kategori 0 tidak bekerja, sedangkan variabel prediktornya yaitu tingkat pendidikan (X1) dan jenis kelamin (X2). Before we conduct the actual statistical tests, we need to screen our data for any irregularity. Usually, we check for: (a) if data have been entered correctly, such as out-of-range values. It may be caused by human error in data entry (eg: entering " 22 " when it is supposed to be " 2 " for likert scale item) (b) for other kind of outliers (multivariate). Outliers are suspiciously larger or smaller observation (data) than the majority of the observations. (c) for missing values. ABSTRAK Bisnis TV berlangganan merupakan salah satu bisnis masa depan bagi sebuah perusahaan yang memiliki bisnis inti telekomunikasi seperti Telkomvision. Pada akhir tahun 2011 jumlah pelanggan Telkomvision mencapai lebih dari satu juta pelanggan, namun demikian pada tahun 2012 menurunnya pendapatan per pelanggan TV berlangganan atau average revenue per user (ARPU) menjadi penyebab perusahaan ini mengalami kerugian. Tingkat churn pelanggan yang tinggi harus diprediksi secara akurat, karena hasil prediksi yang akurat dapat menentukan strategi apa dan promosi bagaimana yang tepat untuk retensi pelanggan. Kemudian dilakukan segmentasi pelanggan untuk merumuskan program retensi yang tepat sesuai dengan kebutuhan pelanggan yang berpotensi churn tinggi. Metode data mining digunakan untuk memprediksi potensi churn dan segementasinya pada pelanggan PT Indonusa Telemedia, dan dapat hal ini dapat mendukung proses monitoring, pengendalian, serta penyusunan strategi pada management. Metode Decision Tree dan Clustering merupakan metode data mining yang populer karena sangat mudah dipahami dan diinterpretasikan, sehingga dapat dengan mudah untuk digunakan sebagai teknik untuk melakukan prediksi churn dan segmentasinya. Tujuan utama dari prediksi pelanggan churn adalah untuk memperoleh informasi dari pelanggan yang mempunyai potensi churn tinggi sehingga dapat disusun rencana strategis dan promo perusahaan yang tepat sesuai dengan segmentasinya. Metode Decision Tree dengan pemodelan menggunakan algoritma C4.5 menghasilkan tingkat akurasi 90,89%. Kemudian pelanggan yang mempunyai potensi churn tinggi dilakukan clustering menggunakan algoritma K-Means dan dari 5956 total pelanggan dapat merekomendasikan 5792 pelanggan yang mendapatkan penawaran program retensi.

For a long time, one of my dreams was to describe the nature of uncertainty axiomatically, and it looks like I've finally done it in my co∼eventum mechanics! Now it remains for me to explain to everyone the co∼eventum mechanics in the most approachable way. This is what I'm trying to do in this work. The co∼eventum mechanics is another name for the co∼event theory, i.e., for the theory of experience and chance which I axiomatized in 2016 [1, 2]. In my opinion, this name best reflects the co∼event-based idea of the new dual theory of uncertainty, which combines the probability theory as a theory of chance, with its dual half, the believability theory as a theory of experience. In addition, I like this new name indicates a direct connection between the co∼event theory and quantum mechanics, which is intended for the physical explanation and description of the conict between quantum observers and quantum observations [4]. Since my theory of uncertainty satises the Kolmogorov axioms of probability theory, to explain this co∼eventum mechanics I will use a way analogous to the already tested one, which explains the theory of probability as a theory of chance describing the results of a random experiment. The simplest example of a random experiment in probability theory is the " tossing a coin ". Therefore, I decided to use this the simplest random experiment itself, as well as the two its analogies: the " "flipping a coin " and the " spinning a coin " to explain the co∼eventum mechanics, which describes the results of a combined experienced random experiment. I would like to resort to the usual for the probability theory " coin-based " analogy to explain (and first of all for myself) the logic of the co∼eventum mechanics as a logic of experience and chance. Of course, this analogy one may seem strange if not crazy. But I did not come up with a better way of tying the explanations of the logic of the co∼eventum mechanics to the coin-based explanations that are commonly used in probability theory to explain at least for myself the logic of the chance through a simple visual " coin-based " model that clarifies what occurs as a result of a combined experienced random experiment in which the experience of observer faces the chance of observation. I hope this analogy can be useful not only for me in understanding the co∼eventum mechanics.

Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) are part of everyday programme management and are critical to the success of all programmes. MEAL technical quality is very important across a portfolio of projects. Without an effective MEAL system we would be unable to track progress, make adjustments, discover unplanned effects of programmes, or judge the impact that we have made on the lives of those with whom we are working. A MEAL system also helps individuals and teams to be accountable to stakeholders through information sharing and developing complaints or feedback mechanism which can help to guide programme implementation.

The course provides participants with a strong foundation in monitoring and evaluation, programme design and implementation. Participants will explore the variety of tools and techniques used to measure project progress and to report outcomes to the appropriate internal and external stakeholders-including donors, funders, supervisors, or the population being served. Participants will design relevant and effective frameworks, and learn the required methods to conduct effective data collection, statistical analysis, and reporting. Through the interactive sessions and through exposure to real case studies drawn from relevant organizations, participants will gain the skills needed to conduct a monitoring and evaluation programme for development organizations, NGOs, or private organizations in the development, peacebuilding, energy, gender studies, transnational security sectors among other sectors. The course  introduces participants to MEAL concepts and practices. It will stimulate ideas on how to design and implement monitoring and evaluation processes that strengthen accountability and learning, and so promote project, programme and strategy effectiveness.

The aim of this work is identifying and raising awareness of LGBT community members’perception of social, educational, professional and political integration in contemporary Romania. International studies abundantly address the extra-communitary perspective of
homosexuality tolerance. This research promotes the LGBT intra-communitary auto-perception. To study this topic, we conducted a quantitative research, using the survey as a method. The
questionnaire was completed by 188 LGBT Romanians, the results obtained and the analysis of the data being presented in this paper. The main conclusion of this research is that the LGBT people feel more integrated in the workplace, while the educational environment is the context in which LGBT respondents most often become victims of harassment, insults and violence.

Vibration is a part of everyday life, whether we are aware of it or not. Everyone experiences vibration in a variety of different ways: intentionally with music and speech, environmentally by cars, computers, phones, etc., and unconsciously, because there are many vibrational frequencies that are not audible to the human ear. Previous studies have focused on whether vibrational exposure impacts mood or impacts mindfulness, but the aim of the current study was to examine whether exposure to vibration of high and low frequencies has any impact on state mood and mindfulness levels together. Participants (n = 28) were assigned to listen to either high frequencies (20,000Hz and above) or low frequencies (50Hz or below). Regardless of intervention, participants completed the State Mindfulness Survey (SMS) and the Positive and Negative Affect Schedule (PANAS) questionnaires before and after their retrospective intervention. A repeated measures MANOVA was conducted to examine group differences on mood and affect. There was no significant time by condition interactions for any of the dependent variables. There were various limitations in this study that may have led to no significant results, such as insufficient sample size combined with low amplitude levels and short frequency exposure times during intervention.

Learning English language in Malaysian formal classroom learning is similar to learning other subjects. The formal learning of English language begins at the age of seven and continues until seventeen, at the end of secondary school. The subject of English language is taught by skills, namely reading, listening, writing and speaking. English language is continuously assessed at the school level as well as the national level. Malaysian University English Test is an indicator of the learners’ English language proficiency as well as to determine the number of English language courses they need to take during their undergraduate programmes at higher education institutions in Malaysia. Nevertheless, Malaysian graduates limited incompetence in English communication skills is cited as a reason for their unemployment. Research has established that language anxiety is a consistent phenomenon in second language acquisition classrooms and presents an obstacle restricting learners from learning or acquiring a foreign language. This paper presents the research methodology on assessing the English language anxiety of first year Malaysian undergraduate learners. The study employed a mixed methods approach using the foreign language classroom anxiety scale as the quantitative research instrument, followed by the learners’ reflective journals as a supportive secondary role to the data collection. There is no single best design to favour in every case but the selection of any research approach should be appropriate to research problem(s) of any study.

Для проверки подобной гипотезы необходимо изучить интерактивный эффект данных двух независимых переменных; этот эффект может проявляться как дополнение прямых эффектов, но и возникать в тех случаях, когда сами по себе независимые переменные не значимы.

This study focused on impact of betting on secondary school students’ academic performance in Mathematics in Makurdi Local Government Area of Benue State, Nigeria. Questionnaire was used to obtain data for the study. A sample size of 393 respondents was drawn out of a student population of 23,811. The respondents were selected using a simple random sampling method. Data collected was analysed using simple percentages for demographic data, while mean and standard deviations were used for research questions, and a chi-square statistic was used in testing the hypotheses. The study identified a significant impact of sport betting on academic performance of secondary school students in mathematics in Makurdi LGA of Benue State. The research recommended that government that government should regulate the operations of sport betting in the state, to pave the way for students’ concentration in the study of Mathematics. That government should ensure that only adults involved in gambling of sport betting. There should be strict observance of the time limit for operators of betting centres. For example, bet centres should be made to operate between 8:00am and 6:00pm.

Selain itu, buku ini menyajikan juga secara praktis teknik analisis statistika menggunakan program SPSS. Sajian aplikasi SPSS mulai dari statistika deskriptif, parametrik dan nonparametrik dan persyaratan uji statistik yang sering digunakan dalam menganalisis data hasil penelitian.

هدف از اين تحقيق آگاهي از نگرش دانشجويان دانشگاه پیام نور پاکدشت نسبت به مسئله اعتیاد مي‌باشد.
جامعه آماري در اين تحقيق،‌ تمام دانشجويان رشته های مختلف دانشگاه پیام نور پاکدشت مي‌باشد كه حجم نمونه اين تحقيق برابر با 400 نفر مي‌باشد. روش تحقيق به كار گرفته شده در اين پژوهش، روش پيمايشي و گردآوري اطلاعات نيز از طريق پرسشنامه صورت پذيرفته است. به منظور تجزيه و تحليل داده‌هاي اين تحقيق از نرم افزار spss استفاده گرديد . همچنین در جهت به دست آوردن روند تغییرات نگرشی و رفتاری بوجود آمده در طی زمان نتایج این نظر سنجی با نتایج طرح ملی پیمایش ارزشها و نگرشهای ایرانیان که توسط مرکز پژوهشهای ملی وزارت فرهنگ و ارشاد اسلامی در سال 1381 انجام گرفته مقایسه گردید .
