Work measurement techniques are applications that are planned to regulate the time needed by a worker to complete work at a predetermined level.

This article concerns the extent to which corrupt behavior is dependent on the organizational power structure and the resources available for illegal exchange. This qualitative study is based on 42 in-depth interviews with organizational actors in different organizations in Hungary. Four core themes emerged from the analysis of the interviews: (a) isolated corruption at the bottom, (b) the middle level’s own corruption, (c) “technicization” when middle-level professionals and expert groups are used to legalize the corruption of the dominant coalition, and (d) “turning-off controls” when organizational elites intentionally deactivate internal and external controls to avoid detection.

The rapid development of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) forces institutions of higher learning to enhance the ICT knowledge and skills of their students. A study was carried out to gauge the perceptions, knowledge and ICT skills of 239 first year students from the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) for the 200412005 intake. The research instruments were a questionnaire to measure perception, and a set of ICT knowledge
and skills tests to measure the students' knowledge and skills in using applications such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Internet and email. These tests were developed based on UKM's ICT standards for students. The findings revealed that the majority of respondents perceived themselves as having very limited skill and competency in the use of ICT application programs. This perception was confirmed by the students'
achievements on both ICT tests. It can be concluded that the first year students in the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities at UKM had not achieved the minimum standard of competency in ICT as proposed in the UKM ICT standards. It is suggested that these students be given ICT training and that the lecturers involved should also be equipped with ICT
skills to enable integration of ICT in teaching.

The combined effects of color temperature and illuminance in a small office on visual response and mood under various lighting conditions were examined in this study. Visual annoyance tests were conducted using a sample of 20 subjects in a full-scale mock-up test space. Computer and paper-based reading tasks were conducted for 500 lx and 750 lx illuminance levels under 3,000 K, 4,000 K and 6,500 K conditions. Two hypotheses were considered for the test in this study. The primary hypothesis was that visual perception is affected by the color temperatures of light sources. The secondary hypothesis was that better moods, such as relaxed and cozy feelings, are associated with low color temperatures given equal illuminance levels. The visual environment under the 3,000 K condition was characterized by glare and brightness, resulting in visual discomfort when target illuminance was higher than 500 lx. Occupants preferred 500 lx under the 6,500 K condition, and 500 lx and 750 lx under the 4,000 K condition, reporting better visual satisfaction when performing office tasks. Prediction models for visual comfort suggest that the less that subjects are visually bothered by light during tasks, the more visual comfort they feel. User satisfaction with light source color is critical for the prediction of visual comfort under different lighting conditions. Visual comfort was the most influential factor on mood. Lower color temperature was associated with better mood at lower illuminance levels, while higher color temperature was preferred at higher illuminance levels.

Employee's peroformance in an organization such as office or a company is an important value for the running of the organization. This is because of employees that has a high performance will produce higher output or result quality compared to empoyees who has low performance. The employee's performance themselves can be influenced by various factors such as the atmosphere of the work environment, tasks obtained, workplace atmosphere relationships with colleagues, etc. From that case, this research was made with the aim to find out how important and ninfluential an office layout is to the productivity, effectiveness and comfortness of an employees when doing his/her duties. The method that is used in conducting this research is conduct literature review of several existing journal references.

Vanaf de eerste tot en met recente onderzoeken wijst steeds vaker uit dat deze claims achterhaald zijn en zelfs het tegenovergestelde aantonen. De kantoortuin (Duits: Bürolandschaft of Großraumbüro) is een in de jaren 1950 in Duitsland ontwikkeld concept voor de indeling van kantoorruimte. Het maakte in de jaren 1970 ook in de rest van West-Europa opgang. Hierbij zijn veel medewerkers, doorgaans meer dan 12, bij elkaar in dezelfde ruimte werkzaam. Er zijn geen scheidingswanden. Such freedom is not - and might not be – unlimited though. In particular, it shall not cause obstacles neither for the state functions nor for the campaign and electoral process. It also shall not violate the rights of political competitors. Thus, also the Polish legal provisions define some legal framework for electoral campaign. The bans for the agitation in  certain places serve as a good examples of such rules. This very paper is an attempt to present the theory and practical information on such matter.

"The main aim of this study is to describe the level of computer based application softwares (BILTUY) usage and expectation of administrative secretariats. This research includes 153 services campanies and their administrative secretariats who are using internet and working service sector in Ostim Organized Industrial Region in Ankara. And, they are selected with simple randomly sample method from population which includes 248 services campanies. Questionnaire prepared by the researchers has been used as the data collection instrument. The questionnaire includes total 15 items and one of them includes 24
subitems about the level of computer based application softwares
usage of administrative secretariats. Frequency, percentage, arithmetic mean, independent-samples t-test and f-test have been used in data analysis. In consequence of research, the difference is no significant according to sex and education levels of administrative secretariats (p>0.05), but the difference is significant between BILTUY groups about the level of BILTUY usage (p<0.05). Furthermore, the level of productivity softwares, financial and commercial softwares, and communication softwares usage of administrative secretariats is higher
than the other BILTUY groups. The other finding is also the level of
BILTUY usage of administrative secretariats is more advanced than the other office staffs. In addition to this findings, in this study determined some expectations of administrative secratariats which are educational needs about foreign language for setup and usage of BILTUY, and distance learning for improving to the level of BILTUY usage. In the light
of this findings, we have been presented some suggestions to office managers and administrative secretariats."

This paper updates the findings of a prior work that found evidence to suggest that predictions of thermal comfort can be improved by adding measurements of indoor CO 2 concentrations. This work first updates these findings by adding 150 new samples of IEQ measurements collected from occupants of office spaces at the University of British Columbia in 2019. This paper then formulates and proposes a novel Hierarchical Bayesian model, trained on the expanded field dataset, that predicts thermal satisfaction based on thermal IEQ metrics and measurements of CO 2 levels. Posterior predictive results revealed a robust and statistically significant correlation between perceived thermal comfort and indoor CO 2 levels. Cross-validation and posterior checks revealed stronger evidence that including indoor CO 2 concentrations as an independent variable when predicting thermal satisfaction improves its prediction accuracy. The proposed model can be integrated into building control systems to predict thermal comfort in office spaces based on thermal conditions and ventilation rates, which improves the prediction accuracy of thermal comfort, mitigate the performance gap between predictions and observations of thermal comfort, and may result in energy savings while not sacrificing indoor air quality and well-being, an important challenge to building controls. Open space office design has different type of open plan. From the formal open plan design to the informal open plan. The spatial open plan settings of work organizations affect the organizational and the employee behaviour. The formal settings create effective and efficient space by lining up individuals and exposing them to supervision. The informal setting constitutes a less linear setting where the employees are organized in circles and groups so as to facilitate communication and interaction. The formal settings create more effective, more efficient space and more productive employee in such a way. Yet the employee could not have social structures. The purpose of this qualitative research is to analyze the formal open space office and how to rehumanizing it and yet keeping productivity of the employee and having an effective and efficient space. One of the solutions is to create an indoor plantation and exercise inside the office. The other solution is to create an informal and comfortable eating space.

Purpose of researches is to give a physiological and hygienic assessment of microclimate in modern office buildings and to study types of adaptive reactions in employees. Methods of researches: sanitary and hygienic, studies of thermal state, biological age, general metabolism, peripheral blood leukocyte formula. 351 office worker of IT-sphere at enterprises of the city Kyiv have been examined. Results indicate that the leading adverse factors at workplace of office workers are microclimatic conditions with the increased 1–7 °С temperature and relative low air humidity (20–39 %). Also, there is available the impact of work strain by indices of intellectual, sensory and neuro-emotional loads. Conclusions: By the Classification of Work office, the microclimatic parameters, in most cases, can be referred to Class 3.1–3.3 (harmful conditions). The unfavourable effect of microclimate is manifested as disorders in the thermal state of the body with the increase of the average body temperature by 0,2–0,7 °C. Among office workers there were found higher rates of aging, by 4,2 years, on average, excessive body weight – by 10,2 kg, increase of the general metabolism by 117 kcal/day. The following types of adaptive reactions were found in office workers: training – 48 % activation – 45 %, stress – 7 %. The gender index did not affect the type of the adaptive response. In the "stress" group there were observed higher rates of aging by 8.3 years, the increase of the number of workers with deviation from the normal body weight up to 43,8 % , which requires implementation of proper preventive measures and development of hygienic guidelines.

Цель исследования. Физиолого-гигиеническая оценка параметров микроклимата современных офисных помещений и исследование типов адаптационных реакций организма работающих. Материалы и методы исследования. Санитарно-гигиенические исследования условий труда, исследования теплового состояния, биологического возраста, основного обмена веществ, лейкоцитарной формулы периферической крови 351 офисного работника IT-сферы на предприятиях г. Киева. Результаты. Ведущим неблагоприятным фактором на рабочих местах офисных работников является микроклиматические условия с повышенной на – 7 °С температурой и недостаточной относительной влажностью воздуха (20–39 %). При этом, имеет место дополнительное влияние напряженности труда по показателям интеллектуальных, сенсорных и нервно-эмоциональных нагрузок. Выводы. По Гигиенической классификации труда параметры офисного микроклимата, в большинстве случаев, нужно отнести к классу 3.1–3.3 (вредные условия). Неблагоприятное влияние параметров микроклимата проявляется в том, что у работающих наблюдается нарушение теплового состояния организма с повышением средневзвешенной температуры тела на 0,2–0,7 °С. Среди офисных работников установлено повышение темпов старения в среднем на 4,2 года, избыточной массы тела – на 10,2 кг, повышение основного обмена веществ до 117 ккал/сутки. В офисных работников определяли следующие типы адаптационных реакций организма: тренировки – 48 %, активации – 45 %, стресса – 7 %. Гендерный показатель не влиял на тип адаптационной реакции. В группе «стресс» наблюдали повышение темпов старения на 8,3 года, увеличение до 43,8 % числа работающих с отклонением массы тела от нормальной, что требует внедрения соответствующих профилактических мероприятий и разработки гигиенических рекомендаций.

Мета дослідження. Фізіолого-гігієнічна оцінка параметрів мікроклімату сучасних офісних приміщень та дослідження типів адаптаційних реакцій організму працюючих. Матеріали та методи дослідження. Санітарно-гігієнічні, дослідження теплового стану, біологічного віку, основного обміну речовин, лейкоцитарної формули периферичної крові. Проведено на 351 офісному працівнику IT-сфери на підприємствах м. Києва. Результати. Провідним несприятливим фактором на робочих місцях офісних працівників є мікроклімат, перевищення температури повітря (на 1–7 °С) та невідповідність відносної вологості повітря (20–39 %) регламентованим рівням. При цьому, має місце додатковий вплив напруженості праці за показниками інтелектуальних, сенсорних та нервово-емоційних навантажень. Висновки. За Гігієнічною класифікацією праці параметри офісного мікроклімату, у більшості випадків, необхідно віднести до класу 3.1–3.3 (шкідливі умови). Несприятливий вплив параметрів мікроклімату проявляється порушенням теплового стану організму з підвищенням середньозваженої температури тіла на 0,2–0,7 °С. Серед офісних працівників встановлено: підвищення темпів старіння – у середньому на 4,2 років, надлишкова маса тіла – на 10,2 кг, підвищення основного обміну речовин – до 117 ккал/добу. У офісних працівників визначались наступні типи адаптаційних реакцій організму: тренування – 48 %, активації – 45 %, стресу – 7 %. Гендерний показник не впливав на тип адаптаційної реакції. У групі «стрес» спостерігалося підвищення темпів старіння на 8,3 років, збільшення до 43,8 % кількості працюючих з відхиленням маси тіла від оптимальної (за Броком), що потребує впровадження відповідних профілактичних заходів та розробки гігієнічних рекомендацій.

This article describes the development of SSA’s administrative records database for the Project NetWork return-to-work experiment targeting persons with disabilities. The article is part of a series of papers on the evaluation of the Project NetWork demonstration. In addition to 8,248 Project NetWork participants randomly assigned to receive case management services and a control group, the simulation identified 138,613 eligible nonparticipants in the demonstration areas. The output data files contain detailed monthly information on Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and Disability Insurance (DI) benefits, annual earnings, and a set of demographic and diagnostic variables. The data allow for the measurement of net outcomes and the analysis of factors affecting participation. In a prior work, we applied Bayesian logistic regression to investigate possible quantifiable correlations between occupants' perceived thermal comfort, thermal indoor conditions, and non-thermal metrics of indoor environmental quality (IEQ). This study updates the findings of the prior work by adding IEQ data collected from a recent field study carried out at the University of British Columbia. Bayesian logistic regression of the expanded dataset reinforces observations made in our first paper that thermal comfort is correlated to measured values of indoor CO2 concentrations. Cross-validation and posterior checks revealed that it is possible to increase the prediction accuracy of thermal satisfaction in open-plan offices by including measurements of CO2 concentration. This paper formulates a new predictive model of thermal comfort which can be used by building modellers to predict thermal comfort in office settings based on thermal conditions and ventilation rates. Key Innovations • This paper presents a novel predictive model for thermal comfort that uses Bayesian inference to quantitatively predict perceived thermal satisfaction given psychrometric IEQ metrics and measured values of CO2 concentrations. Practical Implications This research suggests that an open-plan office with high amounts of fresh air can provide the same level of thermal comfort at higher/lower temperatures than an office with 'typical' ventilation rates. Additional monitoring of CO2 concentrations can further improve thermal comfort compliance estimates and may result in energy savings.

In the foreword to “‘Law As . . .’ Glossolalia,” Chris Tomlins frames the central topic of the symposium in terms of jurisprudence and the practice of history writing. History writing, he argues, enables scholars to rearticulate different aspects of the ideas, practices, and institutions of law. Considering glossolalia speaking in tongues and the expression of divine spirit—suggests Tomlins, might allow us to say something about contemporary forms of jurisprudence and history writing or, at least about those genres that remain in touch with the common law tradition.This Afterword follows up the projects presented in the “Law As . . .” symposium as if they articulate a series of jurisprudences that offer a training in the conduct of office or persona of the (minor) jurisprudent.

This chapter explores how some assumptions of the cross-cultural study “My Desk Is My Castle”, for instance that “desks substantially differ from country to country” since specific cultures have “an enormous impact” on organisation and arrangement of objects on a desk, play out in the specific local context of Auckland, Aotearoa/New Zealand. In globalised cities like Auckland, as the fabric forming the “specific culture in which the … office work is located”, there are many distinct ethnic migrant communities. Further, the overlaps and distinctions joining or distinguishing the Māori Tangata Whenua (Indigenous) population from hegemonic New Zealand culture are not easily identified and interpreted, even by locals. The discussion explores such local conditions surrounding the photos taken by AUT student researchers, relates them to two theories that take an active view of the creation of identity and space, reflects on the limits and potentials of the Auckland part of the project, and suggests some interesting questions to be explored in the future.
