Modal testing is the form of vibration testing of an object whereby the natural (modal)
frequencies, modal masses, modal damping ratios and mode shapes of the object under test are
determined.
Objectives: This analysis are to identify the possible method to increase the natural frequency
of the given steel plate with dimension of (W=300mm, L=400mm, and T=1mm) under freefree
boundary conditions.
Expected Results: The outcome of this analysis would be able to increase the natural frequency
of the given plate by using basic vibration fundamentals theory and using engineering
adjustments and judgements

Objectives: To simulate and analyse the suspension system of formula-1 car under dynamic condition by using solid works,
hyper mesh and Adams software tools. Methods/Statistical Analysis: The method followed for modelling of front and rear
suspension in Solid works by considering the vehicle components allowances and constraints, by decision matrix finalized
the material for suspension components. The thickness and outer dimensions are reduced for the weight reduction, for the
better performance in acceleration. By using Finite element analysis with Hyper mesh software and fined the deformations
and stresses. Finally, simulation is performed in ADAMS to visualize working model. Findings: Deformations and stresses
were found by using Finite element analysis with Hyper mesh software. Simulation is performed in ADAMS to visualize
working model. Application/Improvements: Effective suspension system for formula-1 car. Through FEA reduced the
material.

The following Dissertation shows the necessary steps to follow at the time of generating an FEM model using Altair HyperWorks software. Various structural analyses have been carried out to different elements, mostly made of composite materials, which have allowed the validation of the methodology used at the design and simulation of the differentes models. A more complex simulation has been performed to the wing of a certain aircraft, as a culmination process.

With the increase in the number of people being affected by Osteroarthritis, Rheumatoid Arthritis, and other knee complication, Total Knee Replacement (TKR) has emerged as one of the best solution for mobility and to reduce the pain, stiffness etc, among people. In TKR the affected portion of the Femur is fitted with a metallic implant while the Tibia is fitted with a implant made of a Polymer. The knee joint is considered to be the most complex joint in the human body. Accordingly the material utilized for knee implant assumes an exceptionally important part for survival of knee prosthesis. These implant materials must meet the physical, mechanical and biological necessary to serve its purpose. The materials that are utilized incorporate Metals, Composites, Ceramics and Polymers. Of these materials Co-Cr Alloy, Titanium alloys, Stainless Steel, Zirconia and Tantalum are used for Femur and Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE) for Tibia. The aim of this project is to prepare a 3D model of the Knee prosthesis and calculate the Stress, Contact and Deformation for the various bio-materials used in the TKR components. The 3D Modelling of knee prosthesis was made using SolidWorks, while the pre-processing was done using HYPERMESH and the FEA software ABAQUS CAE was used as a solver for the contact pressure, deformation on the knee. The aim is to find out by FEM analysis results, for the various bio-materials under static condition and find out the best materials for the purpose of the Knee Implant.

The aim of this technical report is to handle the Simulate to Innovate Award provided by ALTAIR, the objective of this award is to provide and recognize the use of CAE (Computer-Aided Engineering) simulation on Cairo university Team's Urban Car. This report and the analysis were represented during Shell Eco-Marathon 2021. As ALTAIR supported the teams participated in the marathon by providing not just free Altair software, but also some important virtual learning sessions to help and aid teams to improve their designs and performance. Simulation-driven design methods will be included with all the steps and results, and how could Altair software products help us to handle this improvement. Finite element analysis (FEA) is mandatory for design stages for either the chassis or the body. Altair Hypermesh with Opti structure solver ease the cycle of meshing and applying the basic analyses which applied to the car and applying a robust optimization to save some weight without decreasing the stiffness of the car with free sized optimization, with the aid of Hyperworks software for making some modifications on the CAD, like Snitching, suppress edges, or filling surfaces. Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis is done using AcuSolve solver and visualized with the aid of AcuFieldView. [Simulate to Innovate Award Winner 2021]

Maneuver Load computation is a very important task of any design process for an aircraft industry. The field of flight loads computation is concerned with the provision of loads due to maneuvering flight. Hereby, the underlying simulation model consists of a model for the flexible subsonic aircraft. The analysis will be performed for a variety of flight points and load cases. It consists of maximum structural loads over the airframe due to prescribed maneuvers like symmetric NZ The goal of the current work is it to compute maneuver load using static aeroelastic phenomena on a typical subsonic aircraft for sizing the primary structures like Wing, Fuselage, Horizontal and Vertical stabilizers. The FE Modeling will be done in HYPERMESH and the flight load module of the MSC/PATRAN will be used for aero mesh generation. The static aeroelastic module of the MSC/NASTRAN is used as the solver. The shear force and bending moment diagram will be plotted for fuselage, wing, HT, and controlling surface about their respective elastic axis in PATRAN.

In the present day structural engineering arena, the call of the day is the optimum use of materials to its fullest capability in terms of strength and life. In this sense, the support structure of any engineering products need to satisfy the optimum use of material, minimizing the displacements and stresses developed. One of the methods to carry out this is through finite element analysis. In the present paper, the support structure of newly designed air cooler was analyzed through finite element method using ANSYS. The objective was to try different material, to obtain minimum weight and displacement values. For this purpose, structural analysis of existing support structure of Air Cooler was carried out for three different types of plastic materials (SEB200, FPT30PPC and FPT20PPC) which was showing some vibration based failure. The different loads acting on the structure due to the pump load and the loads due to the blower fans, self-weight, eccentric loading etc. during operation was considered for the analysis. Of the two prominent load cases, the load case where both pump load and fan motor assembly load acting downward was the worst loading case. The stresses developed in the structure when SEB 200 was used were found to be within the allowable limits for both the load cases. The displacement value obtained through finite element analysis and actual measurements were differing by about 6% only. This validated the existing design and the procedures considered for analysis. Based on these findings the redesign of the structure for reduced weight (thickness) and reduction in displacements was considered. The final design showed a reduction of 44.0 % in the total displacement at the desired locations for the material FPT20PPC and reduction of stress levels by 26 % for the material. Based on the finite element simulation the modified final design was found to be better than the existing design in terms of displacement and stress values, cost of the material used and reduction of the problem of vibration based failure of the support structure.
