A handful of people are enjoying larger share at the cost of majority and the later does not have right even to shape their own life, the minority decides their fate. Is it not the moral responsibility of the state to ensure food and shelter for its citizens? When the food stocks in Food Corporation godowns are rotting, why not the belly of the starved be filled with it? Does Right to Food not include in the Right to Life under Article 21? The failure of state in providing basic necessities to its citizens is a violation of Human Rights. And pity that the recent starvation deaths in Orissa are a man-made incidence because of state’s inaction and irresponsibility.
