Partial discharge (PD) spectral response to variations in the supply voltage frequency was experimentally investigated through laboratory-based tests. The PD spectral content of each defect type responded uniquely to variations in the sinusoidal supply voltage frequency in the range 20 to 400 Hz. Background Indonesia is one of the largest consumers of tobacco in the world, however there has been little work done on the economics addiction of tobacco. This study provides an empirical test of a rational addiction (henceforth RA) hypothesis of cigarette demand in Indonesia. Methods Four estimators (OLS, 2SLS, GMM, and System-GMM) were explored to test the RA hypothesis. The author adopted several diagnostics tests to select the best estimator to overcome econometric problems faced in presence of the past and future cigarette consumption (suspected endogenous variables). A short-run and long-run price elasticities of cigarettes demand was then calculated. The model was applied to individuals pooled data derived from three-waves a panel of the Indonesian Family Life Survey spanning the period 1993-2000. Results The past cigarette consumption coefficients turned out to be a positive with a p -value Conclusions Health policymakers should redesign current public health campaign against cigarette smoking in the country. Given the demand for cigarettes to be more prices sensitive for the long run (and female) than the short run (and male), an increase in the price of cigarettes could lead to a significant fall in cigarette consumption in the long run rather than as a constant source of government revenue.

This paper empirically analyses the trend of Islamization in Malaysia using the Islamization Index as an indicator to determine whether the time series dataset of the Islamization index possess deterministic trends or stochastic properties. The result determines the appropriateness of the employment of the Islamization index as a proxy of Islam in the empirical study of Islam and economic performance such as economic growth and development, and not as a spurious relation as in the case of the non-stationary stochastic trend.

This article discusses diagnostic imaging techniques used in the evaluation and management of patients with peripheral arterial disease (PAD). Along with a complete vascular examination, noninvasive physiologic testing is used for the initial evaluation of patients with suspected PAD. Duplex ultrasonography provides information on the degree of stenosis or occlusion within a vessel and allows assessment of the vessel wall and plaque morphology. Angiographic imaging techniques should be reserved for determining the optimal endovascular or surgical approach for patients requiring revascularization. Together, all available diagnostic modalities contribute to successful evaluation and management of patients with PAD.
