Biografie

Cântăreț și actor american de film. Își câștigă faima de cântăreț în emisiuni radiofonice. În 1936 debutează în cinema, înlocuindu-l pe Gene Autry în filmele firmei "Republic". Impune un tip de cowboy cu virtuți muzicale, ceva mai aparte, cu gesturi aride și un mers aristocratic. Supranumit "King of the Cowboys", din 1943 până în 1954 a fost foarte popular, numărul 1 la box-office ca star de western.
