Pretty dry; but, with the Colorado River coursing through town, it can be a tad humid. The humidity is nothing like Wash DC, Florida, etc. but, 112F (the average daytime high in July and August) is dangerously hot---------even @ 5%.

Expecting to have a job waiting for you might be a little unrealistic, and moving into or out of BHC or Laughlin can be a little warm in the summer...

Good luck !
Fair and honest assessment about the BHC/laughlin metro area. Having lived there for 18 months, I can confirm your info line for line.

Drug problem, no jobs, I can't think of anything going for it other then if your a boater. But then you have the Fort Mohave tribe that owns the rights to the beach along the river. That is a pain in the butt if you dont have a yearly pass!

Having lived in BHC, Az for 10 years!! I have to agree with these comments. It is extremly hot, if you haven't lived in that kind of heat, you MIGHT want to visit there first in July and dog days of August. There is heat and then there is hot heat....kids dont play during the day because it is to hot and the playground equipment is dangerously hot, it will burn! Dehydration with people who leave their broken down cars looking for help is an issue...YOU WILL DIE in that weather, you hear of it all the time in the summer months. There were many local spots along the river for relief from the heat, but the Tourist and boaters have really ruined the coves with leaving their garbage and oil spills from their boats/sea-doo's. Many of the places we used to enjoy along the river are not accessable anymore. Really Sad. Coyotes used to run in packs, they even left!
Do your research on BHC before moving there, because people tend to "get stuck" there. Many pedafiles live in BHC.

Bullhead City is nice if you don't have to worry about work, in my humble opinion.

We are mainly looking to relocate because of nasty winter weather which we do not enjoy and our state has the highest unemployment rate in the country. What are some things I should know about Arizona and Bullhead City?
I can't understand why people choose to move from a cold temperature extreme to a high temperature extreme. We enjoy the Winter months but head to, cooler ground by late April.

I can. One need not shovel heat nor deal with rusted out cars/trucks courtesy of the lack of road salt.

Since Casinos and tourism are the lifeblood of Laughlin - why do you suppose the poor state of Arizona didn't just legalize gambling and keep all that money.

We lived in Az (phoenix and tucson) 12 years and ca 12 years and the snowbirds were a part of the industry that kept us working.

My wife now works at a missouri casino that is in bankruptcy - how sound are the casinos there in Laughlin?

Compared to the mountains near Tucson and Southeast Az - bullhead city would be boring but warm winter temps and swamp coolers in the summer helped a lot.

Thanks MajorHart

Smile Laughlin Casinos

The casinos here are hit or miss some are better than others. For sure if want a dealing job you better be a multi game dealer. If you can deal craps you will have the best the best chance. I would suggest you go to each one of the casinos and talk to the workers they will tell you whats up. BHC is a good place to live the summers are tough but the rest of the months are nice. It can get windy sometimes that the only thing that spoils a nice day. Good luck
