Pros:Location is great.
Cons:Overall shabby, needs major improvements. E.g., wall thermostat didn't work, but easy to see why--cable running along floorboard, with broken wires at heater/AC (at least that worked when turned on at unit). Small bathroom with almost no counter space. Drains sluggish, with someone's old ??contact solution bottle visible in sink (no stopper). Walls thin. No coffee maker (and local convenience stores not selling coffee during pandemic).

Pros:Great location near beach and a couple cute cafes
Cons:Nothing like the photos. This hotel is super run down. There were some renovations that were poorly done, including a hole in the bathroom wall because the AC was situated between the sleeping area and bathroom. Our door was in such bad shape that the lock barely worked, there was no chain lock, you could see outside from under the door, and you could feel the wind blowing all around it. One of our windows was super cracked, so we felt pretty unsafe. The sheets were mildly damp, the walls had holes in them, and in general it felt like a scene in a horror movie. The employees were very nice, but the hotel itself is highly misrepresented by photos and reviews.

Pros:The location is great and the price was great for SF.
Cons:the carpet was wet from a window that was left open when I arrived. The room was musty. This is one of the foggiest places on earth though so it’s to be expected.

Pros:It was close to golden gate park so we were able to get up and get to the gardens early in the day when the entrance fee is waived. Also, I have 4 children and it is hard to find rooms that can fit all of us at once but they had a suite which was big enough for all of us. The staff was friendly.
Cons:The breakfast was very small with few choices. The location did not seem like an especially safe area although we had no problems.
