Cons:

Despite making a reservation, we arrived at the office to be told “there were no cars”. This had not been communicated prior, and in fact, I had received an email “confirming” my rental the day before. To further complicate, and frustrate our situation, our travel plans were nearly 100 miles away, now with no way to get there. The agent at the rental agency couldn’t even give us a ballpark as to when a car would become available. At one point she stated “maybe tomorrow”. Completely unacceptable—not only in not fulfilling our reservation, but also in not communicating the issue so we had any chance to make changes.

One way fee was not disclosed to me. Also the story I picked it up from was closed for half the time I had the vehicle, I needed costumer service and no other store could assist me, I was told I needed to speak to the store I picked it up from. Very Very Very displeased with my experience and I will never rent from Enterprise again

Pick-up truck

The tagline of “pick Enterprise and we’ll pick you up” doesn’t apply outside of a 4 mile radius apparently. Bummer. Outside of that, staff at this location were friendly and laid back, super helpful in reviewing the contract before and after. Vehicle was clean. Would use Enterprise again, just need to find one closer to the house I guess.

Pros:

The people at the drop off were wonderful. Pick up, not so much and I don’t understand why the gas was not full, especially knowing that the car was out having the oil checked. It was very inconvenient for me as I was driving up to Sedona & Flagstaff. Also, the surprise was a pick up TRUCK??? I rent cars NOT TRUCKS!!! What was that??? I had to wait for a car!

Cons:

Full tank. Car was not comfortable for hwy driving. When someone rents a car, give them a car.

Pick up was very friendly and efficient. Drop off was confusing. No directions by signage or communicative personnel. We were steered wrong at drop off requiring extra steps and unnecessary waits in line. Car was not cleaned properly, even to the point of empty soda bottles in back seat. Windshield wipers were completely absent. So glad it did not rain more than one out of seven days! We would have told a staff member IF a human was available to report to.

There was confusion about where the pickup and drop off were. I asked kayak for airport locations, but we actually got pickup/dropoff locations a few miles away from the airport. Wasn't a big deal, just a couple uber rides and the price was 50% below what we would have paid at the airport...just wish communication was clearer. They didn't have the car we paid for at the Phoenix pickup, so we exchanged a few days later. It was all worth it cuz the price was right.

The employee that helped us was wonderful. I didn’t get his name but he was great. We were very tired from traveling and I thought I had a reservation but he couldn’t find it. Instead of making it a problem he just asked what I needed and found a car that would work. It was very easy and he was great.

I got to Avis at Airport. They told me my rental was in the city. I paid a lot more for my car at the airport. When I booked, I requested car at PHX airport. How did I get one in the city? Switcheroo ! Bad bad bad Kayak! Never again.

We arrived and they didn’t have the car we booked. I told them it was fine to put us in something else, BUT they had no cars available. We had to wait for 35-40 minutes for a car that was in horrible condition.

Full-size SUV

I booked a full sized suv. Claimed it had seating for 7. Thie mid sized vehicle could barely fit 5 adults. We had to change last minute and cost an extra $500+ Very upset about this.

Supplier choice

Despite taking my rental fee with a debit card, they would not release the vehicle to me. I was over 1,000 miles from home, at 0130 in the morning, and left without a vehicle. I was also told it could take up to 2 months for a refund. The gent with whom I dealt at the counter was kind and sympathetic, but the experience was unacceptable.
