The Fifth Elephant is the 24th Discworld novel by Terry Pratchett. It introduces the clacks, a long-distance semaphore system. The novel was nominated for the Locus Award in 2000.
The Ankh-Morpork City Watch is expanding; there is now a Traffic department with traffic cameras implemented using iconograph technology and a wheel clamping team, and the clacks is beginning to replace homing pigeons for communications between officers. The Watch is also investigating the theft of the replica Scone of Stone (a parody of the real-life Stone of Scone) from the Ankh-Morpork Dwarf Bread Museum. (The Scone of Stone in the novel is kept under close guard in a dwarf mine in Überwald, and will form a vital part of the forthcoming coronation ceremony of the dwarfs' new Low King.)
Samuel Vimes, Commander of the Ankh-Morpork City Watch and Duke of Ankh, is sent to the remote region of Überwald as an ambassador to take advantage of the coronation to negotiate with the new Low King on increased imports of fat. (Underground fat deposits are abundant in Überwald as a fifth discworld-supporting elephant impacted there in prehistoric times, according to legend.)
Fifth is the ordinal form of the number five.

The Fifth is the fifth studio album by British rapper Dizzee Rascal, released on 30 September 2013 under Dirtee Stank Recordings and Island Records. The Fifth is Dizzee Rascal's first release since he signed with Universal. It succeeds his fourth studio album Tongue n' Cheek (2009) and features production from RedOne, Jonas Jeberg, M.J. Cole, Baptiste, Goldstein, Andrew "Pop" Wansel and Teddy Sky, among others. The album features guest appearances from singers Jessie J, Robbie Williams, Sean Kingston, Angel, and rappers Tinie Tempah, Bun B, Trae tha Truth, and Will.i.am. The album's track listing was confirmed when it was made available to pre-order via the iTunes Store.
Dizzee commented on the album: "It's the best-produced album I've done so far. If my last record was dipping my foot into the swimming pool of happiness, this one is fully going for a swim - backstroke, butterfly, in every way... not just doggy paddle". The majority of the album was produced in Los Angeles between 2011-2013 and follows the same experimental genre of Rascal's previous studio album, Tongue n' Cheek (2009).
The Fifth is a hard rock band from Fayetteville, North Carolina. The current members are vocalist Roy Cathey, guitarist Icky Jim, bassist Franko and drummer Darius "Bunky" Rose. The Fifth signed to EMG/Universal Records on July 28, 2009, with Monster Energy sponsoring the band. The Fifth celebrated 11 years together on July 14, 2012 with a free show at IT'Z Entertainment City in Fayetteville NC.
The Fifth started in 2001 out of Fayetteville, North Carolina by Roy Cathey who started out in the early 90s with a band called Cold Sweat with former Keel Lead and Rhythm guitarist Marc Ferrari. Roy Cathey co-wrote on "Long Way Down" and "Killing Floor" from Cold Sweat's debut album Break Out. Cold Sweat released "Lets Make Love Tonight" video to MTV and on that day, Cold Sweat was dropped from MCA records. The breakup of Cold Sweat came when Grunge took over MTV and radio, just like many other bands of that genre and during that era.
Cold Sweat spawned two projects for which Roy Cathey sang; "Sweatin' Bullets" and "Pain Society", both featuring ex-members of Cold Sweat. This is Roy Cathey's second time being signed with a Major Record Label.
